WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE TWO MINOR BODY FLAWS LISTED BELOW, EVERYTHING, I MEAN, EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY ON THIS VAN. IT COULD BE DRIVEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY NOW! FLY IN TO DFW AIRPORT AND DRIVE IT HOME!
Up for sale is a near perfect specimen of the ultimate church van/adventure van. It started out life as a church van that hauled seniors on weekends and the youths to retreats. It was ordered in a typical setup of a church van. 15 passenger cloth seating, front and rear COLD AC and heat, as well as the host of power window/lock and ABS, etc. The van lived it's life in a garage when not driven and was outfitted with the Delco alarm. Due to the nature of being a church van, it never exceeded the speed limit (seriously, I could vouch for it) and it only towed trailers twice.
It has a towing package, but I would not recommend as it has the anemic but almost bulletproof 350 CID engine (more on this below).
The interior is almost perfect except for the various coffee stains that I could not get out of the carpet. It does have the standard GM floor mats, but the exposed carpet area have some stains due to this. There are no rips in the carpet nor seats, including the driver's seat. As a matter of fact, the driver's seat looks almost brand new.
The tires are heavy duty LT tires and have plenty of tread on it (See tread depth picture) . The battery is Diehard Platnium AGM (top of the line Sears) and works perfectly. The brakes as well as all the component on the van works perfectly. The transmission shifts smoothly and all 15 seatbelts are there and functioning.
Rebuilt 350 motor. Currently have 3000 miles on it.New Monroe Gas Magnum shocksNew AC evap core on the rear as well as the rear heater coreNew sliding door handle/lock hardwareNew 55/65watts Glass H4 headlight
New transmission fluids and seals
All fluid baselines and parts inspected for function (brakes, U-Joint etc)
Now on the flaws. There are some dings and dents that are typical of a 16 year old church van. The side door has a long scrap on it that is not visible at 10 feet (see picture). It does not affect the function of the sliding door. There is a small driver's side fender dent from a tire blowout years ago (see Picture). Again, this is not visible from more than 10 feet away.
I picked up this van because it had a blown motor from missed oil changes. I replaced it with a rebuilt engine from City Motors with 12 month warranty. I also base-lined all the fluids as well as replaced all parts that are needed.
I wanted to use it as a travel/adventure van, but due to my family and work, it pretty much sits inside my shops garage. This is the perfect van to keep and will run forever - provided it gets oil change.
Buy it for your adventure travel or use it as your church van. It will not let you down!
* The van was originally purchased new by the church that my sister-in-law works as the office manager, I could vouch for its pedigree and provide reference for serious buyers.
