This 1972 Chevrolet C30 Flat Bed Truck is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. 1st Produced in 1960 as Chevrolets new designation system for pickups, the letter designation determined whether it was a 2 or 4 wheel drive, which was then followed up by a 10, 20, or 30. These Numbers would designate if it was a 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton chassis. This C30 was purchased by the original owner in 72 who did not use the truck much which explains the extremely low mileage. He unfortunately passed away when the truck was bought into the current family. The second owner was a machinist by trade and felt the engine in it wasn't quite going to be enough. He was probably right considering 72 is not exactly the year for ground breaking power. Needless to say he sourced a 454 block and began building the motor that he felt, should have went into the truck to begin with. Between the bore and the stroke there was a total of 50 CI picked up increasing overall to 500+ Cubic Inches. An Edelbrock Torker cam was installed giving it a great exhaust note while adding even more power to the big block. Inside the cab, the truck is all business. The only changed that has been made is to the bench seat with black velour inserts. Everything else has remained the same from the rubber mat to the 4-speed shifter. Actually the transmission is more of a 3-speed, as 1st gear is what is called a Bulldog or Granny gear, usually only used when pulling heavy loads or getting out of a muddy field. The extra handle and button on the floor are used to raise and lower the bed of the truck. There is also access to a ball hitch in the center of the bed, just in case you need to hook up to a goose neck trailer. Options for this 1972 Chevrolet C30 include; Power Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Vinyl interior with Velour inserts, and heavy duty tires.
