For sale in our Chicago showroom is this stunning 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. This Goodwood Green drop-top is part of the 2nd generation of Corvettes often referred to as "Sting Rays." Many of these were produced with the small block 327 engine, but this example was born with a 427 cubic-inch powerhouse rated at a whopping 435 horsepower. A numbers matching 4-speed manual transmission puts you in control of the gears. The original numbers matching engine was, unfortunately, damaged early in its life, but it was replaced with the correct L71 427 engine. Firing up the monster V8 will set this beast into a soft burble at idle but one stomp on the loud pedal and she screams like a banshee from this correct tri-power engine.
The Goodwood green paint shines better than new and contrasts well off the redline radial tires. The chrome bumpers glisten in the sunlight and the chrome side pipes make dancing reflections around the vehicle. The interior cradles you in place with perfect placement of the driver controls for anything from casual cruising to full on racing. Once the sun goes down you can flip up the headlights and watch the reflections of the city dance along the muscular fenders and aggressive stinger hood. The subtle "427" hood emblems lets anyone in sight know that this 'Vette means business.
After a recent full restoration with minimal fiberglass repair, this Corvette is in phenomenal shape. With '67 being the end of the iconic C2 generation of Corvettes, this is truly the last of its breed and one of the most sought after Corvettes in history. Options include: Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Radio, Manual Convertible Top, Leather Interior, Radial Tires, and Seat Belts.
