1969 CAPRICE SPORT SEDAN
Hi there, I am listing my 1969 Caprice green mist sport sedan for sale.I bought the Caprice sport sedan for a summer driver though unfortunately my storage situation came to an end and cannot let the Caprice sit outside in the damp Seattle climate. The Caprice has a factory L48 300 350 and replaced turbo 350 transmission with a 12 bolt rear end. I drove it up and down the road a few times and runs strong though has some moisture in the fuel tank thanks to the ethanol gas we use and sitting for a bit. No smoke or ticks, great engine. Read below for the good & bad points carefully:
Good:
-Super healthy strong factory L48 300 HP 350 with edelbrock 4 barrel carb
-Rebuilt turbo 350 automatic transmission
-12 Bolt rear axle
-Clean undercarriage, no floor or frame rust nor through trunk pan rust
-Clean interior with the exception of the dash pad (few cracks) and steering column handles pitted .
-I drove it up and down the road a few times and drives straight and good though needs new shocks and better handling tires.
-Replaced frontImpala amberturn signal lenses with correct Caprice clear lenses last weekend (not seen in photos).
Items that need attention:
-The tilt column has short in it preventing the turn signals, horn and ignition from starting the car. I ran a bypass wire from the battery and the firewall harness into the car to start for now. I will include another steering column with key for parts.
-Hood has some small rust holes and the only body rust I can see is shown in the pics which is the passenger side bottom quarter panel (see pic) and the left and rh upper corners of the firewall thanks to leaves and moisture and a few bumps under the vinyl roof here and there.. See pics. If you want any other pics let me know.
-Brake pedal needs to be pumped up though I did replace the master cylinder last summer.
-Windshield has a crack and driver's door panel lower part is coming unstitched along with the dash pad has a few cracks.
-The interior got a bit damp and mustyfrom sitting outside and it would be wise to lift the replaced carpeting and dry things out with a heat gun. Also applying more rust preventative on the floors would be a good idea to prevent rust.
Also I did not know how to wire the power seat to work since the Caprice originally didn't have power seats and did drill another hole for the seat to bolt through to get it where I can sit in it.
This is about all I can say for now though please ask me any questions or concerns you have before you bid. The Caprice is sold as is & where is and is the winning buyers responsibility to pick up or have a transport service pick up the Caprice a week after funds are received. I will release the Caprice and mail the title (clear and in my name) certified mail to the new owner after funds clear. I require a $300.00 non refundable deposit via pay pal. The rest of the balance can either be wired to me by direct deposit chase bank or an authorized legit bank check. The check has to clear okay before I release the Caprice and title to it's new owner. No scammers saying they will send me a bank check for more than the car etc. I'm not stupid . Be straight forward with me and I will honor that by being straight forward back. If you perhaps have family in Seattle and they want to take a look at it locally (before you bid) I can show them (out it on a lift etc). Any questions you have at all before you bid, please do ask and no question is a silly one. Also any other photos you want of the Caprice, let me know and I will do so, again the Caprice is sold as is and where and it is the winning buyers responsibility to remove the Caprice from the premises a week after it is sold. Any negative or zero bidders bids will be canceled unless contacting me first. Thanks for looking and happy bidding, regards.
