1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala
1962 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Impala Description
Here we have a beautiful and rare 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air 409 bubble top. This car was a factory 409 car that was restored in the early 2000's to it's original condition where it was a proven show winner. The car was then sold in 2005 where the new owner kept the car as it was for a few years then decided to build it into the awesome resto-mod you see here. The original chassis was updated with Ride Tech suspension consisting of tubular a-arms, sway bars, control arms, and adjustable air bags. The steering was also updated with a power rack and pinion set up along with Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes and rotors. The arrow straight body received show quality black paint with a deep high gloss finish that is consistent throughout the car. All doors, hood, and deck lid align perfectly and open and close with ease. The interior has been completely refinished in red ultra leather with custom inserts and was performed by Samson Design of Marshall Missouri. The car is also equipped with Vintage air conditioning. The drive train consist of a 62 model (QB block) 409/409hp built by Schroeder Engineering and is topped with dual AFB carbs sitting on a GM aluminum intake (3814881) with Sanderson high temp coated headers. The generator has also been transformed into an alternator yet still looks like the original style generator for the car. While the engine was kept in it's original stock form the transmission was updated with a Tremec 5 aped, perfect for highway cruising. The rear axle is equipped with posi-traction and a 3.70 gear ratio. The Bel Air sits on 18" and 20" Billet Specialties alloy wheels. This is a drop dead gorgeous car that draws a crowd wherever it pops up.
