1970 Chevrolet C-10 CST Description

Looking for a nice, clean old truck? How about one with a lot of originality, V8 power, and working factory A/C? Well, this very affordable and nicely finished 1970 Chevy C10 pickup certainly fits the bill, making it a great opportunity to combine fun and work in the same great-looking vehicle. The truth is, we have a hard time keeping trucks like this in stock. Most of them got used up back in the day, so finding one that hasn't been ground up like hamburger on the job site is tougher than you'd think. The good news here is that this truck never did anything more challenging than a Home Depot trip and someone has kept it in good order for the better part of four and a half decades. The paint could be original, and it's in great shape if it is, and if it's been repainted, it was a long time ago and it has great patina. It appears that this truck was originally ordered in Medium Gold, which is pretty close to what it wears today, and it's a handsome color that works quite well on the pickup body style, especially with the white roof to give it an old-school vibe. Fit and finish are very good throughout, with good gaps and smooth sheetmetal, and only the bed shows any major signs of use and age. Bright chrome bumpers, a very nice stainless grille, and big CHEVROLET lettering on the tailgate add detail that make the truck stand out. The handsome interior is dressed in parchment vinyl, complete with matching door panels that use the same materials for a consistent look. We believe the soft parts have been replaced, because they're just too nice to be original, but it all has a consistent look that works well. You'll find that once you're behind the wheel, it feels great and the thin-rimmed wheel gives you a much better connection to the road than you'd expect. The factory gauges cover only the basics and with the reliable, rugged hardware underneath, it really doesn't need more than that and the 65,937 miles are authentic, so this truck is still tight and rattle-free for the most part. The original AM radio is still in the dash and yes, the factory A/C still works, complements of good old R12 refrigerant. The floors are covered with gold carpets and a durable plastic mat for ease of maintenance on the job site.A great-running 307 cubic inch V8 lives under the hood, recently detailed to look fairly correct. Chevy Orange paint, a correct air cleaner housing, and cast iron exhaust manifolds reinforce the OEM vibe and as far as we can tell, it's never been apart. It's quite clean and it was recently tuned and fitted with a new coil and distributor, so it runs and drives superbly, particularly for a vintage pickup. Gears are swapped by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, which is as durable a transmission as you'll find. Those aforementioned exhaust manifolds feed a single exhaust system with a new muffler out back, and it's surprisingly hushed for a truck like this. The undercarriage has some surface scale but nothing major, more proof that it's led an easy life in a warm climate. Heck, we even like the plain Jane steel wheels and hubcaps with 235/75/15 whitewall radials. With just two owners, including the original owner who kept it until 2015, this is a special truck. It drives great and it remains fully functional, so you shouldn't be afraid to use it. Just be prepared for all the admiring glances at the same time. Call today!
