Camaro Type LT - No Reserve!
1976 Chevrolet Camaro Description
Up for bid is a 1976 Camaro Type LT. This car has been my budgetprojectfor the last 6 years and has been an absolute blast to build and drive. If you are looking for a quality, driver condition hot rod that is priced extremely fair then this isdefinitelya strongcandidate for you. It sounds good, boils the tires and looks good doing it. I have put exactly 1,052 miles on the car andI have a stack ofreceipts to verify the new parts listed below. Make sure you check out the twoYouTubevideosin the following links. One video is the timeline of the build and the other is a driving video. The videos do a great job showing the build of the project and the condition of the vehicle ( I stand on it a little around the 6:09 mark in the drive video ). Plus, per Ebay regulations, both videos are owned by me and only provide additional detail and photos about the vehicle being sold.

Exterior- In my opinion, the exterior of this Camaro has held up very well considering its age. The paint and body does have some dings and scratches, but I believe it is the factory 78 code Medium Orange and it still shines up to a nice driver quality. Scratches were masked by using touch up paint and then polished. The only rust issues I can find on the whole car is in the drivers rear quarter, a small amount in both lower fenders and the driver and passenger front floor pans. I made a temporary repair on the floor pans from fiberglass mat/resin toneutralizethe rust. The lower valence was also repaired with fiberglass and only roughed in. It needs sanded and painted. Other than that, the rest of the car is very solid for being original. The following parts are new:
New - Trunk weatherstrip, center caps and most exterior rubber stoppers.
Interior- Most of the interior has been replaced with new/used parts from vintage salvage yards, swap meets and Classic Industries. The overall condition of theinterioris a good, driver quality with the exception of the seats. The seat fabric is obviously original and should be replaced. I patched the rips with duct tape and removed the seat covers only to show the condition of the fabric. Door weatherstrip needs to be replaced. The following parts are new:
New - Carpet, package tray, door panel inserts, heater blower motor, heater core, turn signal cam, dome light lens, Pioneer CD player and Kicker speakers.
Chassis- The chassis and suspension are good for a 40 year old vehicle. It starts, stops and drives straight. Metal brake lines were flushed and the rubber sections have been replaced. The body mount bushings are original and should be replaced at some point. The following items have been replaced with new/reman parts:
New/reman -Brake pads and brake shoes, brake hardware, calipers and wheel cylinders, hoses, power brake booster, master cylinder, emergency brake cables, shocks, leaf spring bushings, leaf spring pads, Lakewood traction bars, center link, inner and outer tie rod ends, adjusting sleeves, idler arm, power steering pump and pressure hose. All fluids have been flushed and refilled.
Powertrain- The car starts and runs good. It has a strong running 350 that stays at 165 degrees on a hot day with 25 oil psi at idle and 50 psi driving, It is cold blooded at start-up, but after it reaches operating temp it idles great. The bottom end is stock and most of the upgrades have been done to the top end. Rear differential is a 3.73 posi and is in original condition. Seals and brake components are new. I recently converted the car from an automatic to a 4-speed and the transmission conversion was done using OE and quality aftermarket parts. The only faults are a vibration above 50 mph and difficulty downshifting from 3rd to 2nd at higher speeds. The transmission and driveshaft were purchased used, so I'm sure the syncros and u-joints should be replaced at some point. Exhaust is 2.5" pipe with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers turned down right before the differential. Currently has a slight exhaust leak at the collector. I have never had the car on a dyno or on the track, therefore, I have no clue what the true horsepower or quarter mile time is. With the parts listed below, I estimateit is in the 300 hp range. Nothing crazy, but enough to have some fun with. Casting numbers and new parts listed below:
New - Differential seals and fluid, 4-speed conversion parts and fluid, shifter bushings, clutch and pressure plate, cross member mount, engine mounts, head bolts, intake bolts, header bolts, oil pan, complete gasket kit, fel-pro blue intake and head gaskets, intake, carburetor, carb bracket, comp camshaft, comp push rods, comp roller tip rockers, comp timing chain, exhaust and mufflers, k&n filter, harmonic balancer, starter, water pump, thermostat, temp sensors, radiator, hoses, belts, fan, distributor, plugs and wires, super coil and all fluids.

Cleaned, magnafluxed, milled .030, valve job, knurled, pinned studs, new valves, new seats and comp roller tip rockers. Vintage Weiand valve covers included.Intake - 7501 Edelbrock performer rpm air gap. NewCamshaft - Comp 12-250-3 XE284H-10. NewCarburetor- Holley 4777-7 650 cfm double pumper, manual choke, mechanical secondaries. Jets, squirters and primaryaccelerator pump camhave been changed for my altitude level. New.Transmission - Casting is rough, but I believe it is 3925658. Cast iron saginaw. Condition unknown.Bell Housing - 3872444 - 11" clutch.Rear Differential - This casting is hard to see, but I can make out PZG81571. When I took the rear cover off to replace the gasket I inspected and counted the teeth. No chips or pits and it calculates to a 3.73 gear. Gm gear and posi unit seem to be original condition.
Overall, this car is an absolute blast and has endless potential. The reason I am selling is because my family and I recently moved, my kids are getting older and I just do not spend that much time with it anymore. The car is currently in storage and needs a new home. Title is clear and in my name.
