1969 Chevrolet Corvette Description

This is probably one of the more rare cars you will find not only because if its condition, low miles and single owner status but because if its history and back story.
I am listing this vehicle for my father who is the original owner. He was in the Army in Vietnam when he ordered this car new for $4627.19 through the PX in Chi Lai, RVN in April 1969. It was delivered to my grandparents house in NYC in December of 1969.
It came with the 427 CID/390 BHP high performance engine four speed close ration transmission, positraction differential, power brakes and Indicator.
According to my dad it was one sexy car in those days. My mom was apparently impressed.
I was later conceived in this car. And nine months later it carried my mother to the hospital where I was born.
Did a partial engine rebuild in 1977. Every several years tuneup included wet/dry compression checks.
Twice he drive the car across the country. Car was stored from 1980-1998 in my grandparents climate controlled garage while my family was stationed overseas. My grandmother started and drive it 2x a week.
I had the car in Denver and Las Vegas for 2 years. It was shipped to Hawaii where my dad retired in 2002 and has been stored in a garage every since.
Car has had 5 tops. Did a partial restoration in 2002 which focused on suspension and shocks and under carriage. Did a major restoration, primarily in 2006/7 when the car was out of action.
Here is the crazy part.
My dad, typical Army Officer, kept every single receipt and bill for this car from the original sales receipts and delivery receipts until now. He has a binder by year. The ENTIRE history of this car.
It is pretty impressive.
So why are we selling it?
My dad recently retired after 50 years. He is having mobility issues and it is not practical for him to drive this car. I love this car. The entire family does, it has a lot of sentimental value. And we never intended to sell it, my dad wanted me to put his ashes in the back compartment and drive around with him in it lol.
However, we came to terms that we want it to go to someone who will love and appreciate it. It requires a lot of love and attention to keep it in collectors condition and that has become harder and harder to do.
SO with much regret we decided to put it out there and see if the right person finds it and appreciates it the way we do.
