1972 Corvette
1972 Chevrolet Corvette Description
Not sure how to describe this Corvette. It was born a 1972 Corvette 4 speed car. Paint code is Ontario Orange with a deluxe saddle interior. Power steering and manual brakes. How I came upon this car was from a relative who told me about it 10 years ago. It sat in a garage for at least that time and I would call this guy every August before the Carlisle Corvette Show and make him an offer. He called me this time and said take it away. The body kit is something to unique. Seems to be a continental kit in back with custom one-off bumper that is 2 bumpers welded and chrome plated. The one photo displayed on here was what it once looked like in its glory days. I was told that it was a show car that was displayed at the Javitz Center in the late 70's. Since it was left to the elements and people, the front windshield was smashed, as was the driver side glass and rear corner window spider-webbed. The frame rails under the doors are pretty well gone from having sat on flat tires. The good...for whatever you plan to do with this car, you have a clean title, Muncie transmission, strong seats that have no tears and are not dry-rotted, along with usable dash pad, console, and door panels. The engine itself is not locked up and if you look at the picture of the head, it looks real clean (i didnt wet it). Previous owner had lost the key and removed the old cylinder and has a new GM one included with this sale but not installed. I am not messing with it, so I havent turned the motor. I may jump the starter and see what happens on Sunday before any bids come in. The engine bay pieces including fan shroud and suspension are in good shape. Hood was a true big block hood that someone unfortunately filled in with glass panels. I can see that someone cut panels to fit over the insert sections. If it doesnt sell, I will be removing it and bringing it back to original shape. Front grills are there, and car comes with the rims you see visible on the driver side of car (not the rallies). I had two flat tires and trying to get to scuffs to roll it on a flatbed with to buyer. The numbers....Engine: 3970010 states 1969-1979 350 or 1968 327Transmission: P2D21A which means 1972 Muncie with Wide Ratio 2:52;1Heads: 3973487X 1971-1972 350 1.94 / 2.02 intake & 1.5 / 1.6 exhaustEngine Stamping: VO213TKF which I first thought was a 1967 block but believe I am wrong due to the last letter being an F and I cant find that code. If you need any questions answered, feel free to ask away. I am expressing this ad as best I can and think this could be a fun project, or use it as a parts car, etc.
