1959 Chevy El Camino 350/350 Air Conditioning Great Condition Driver So Cal
1959 Chevrolet El Camino Description
I am listing this car for my friend who is almost 80 years old. He has had this car since the early 1990's, and it was restored in 1993. If you need the car shipped, or when you pick the car up, it will need to be on ourschedule. Weekends or weekdays after 5pm. (I have to ad this part because of a flake who had agreed to purchase the car, but since I wouldn't take a day off of work to so he backed out the deal.)This is a cash only deal.I am handling the transaction, and he is setting the price. The car has been garaged since done, and he drives it around town about 3 days a week. It is a used car, that is driven almost daily, so it isn't perfect. For a 57 year old car it is in pretty good shape however. The paint isn't perfect, but has been garaged. There are the expected scratches, and other wear expected on a car restored 23 years ago. If I were to put the car on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a trailer queen, I would put this El Camino at a 7 to 8. That is my un-educated opinion only.
This is all the important info:
Mid 1970's Chevy 350 V-8 with a 350 turbo transmission, working under dash air conditioning that blows cold, power steering, front non-power disc brakes, all the stainless and chrome are in great condition except the one emblem on the tail gate. It is a little pitted. He hasn't been able to find one.
The 1956 California plates were nos when he bought them, and are still very minty. I have blocked out the numbers so people don't "drop" by his house.
The interior is in great condition, with two radios. As seen in the pictures, it is rather dated in terms of the billet, and design. The radio the dash works, but isn't hooked up, and a blue tooth stereo with a remote in the back works.
The air conditioning works, as does the power steering. The power steering shows a leak as seen in theundercarriagephotos, but he hasn't had to ad fluid to it in over a year. The front upper and lower control arms, as well as the ball joints are all newer. The front two rims, as well as the front tires are also new. (Replaced two months ago). The bed is coated with Zolatone. New axle bearings and new 3rd member a few years ago.
There is no rust that I can find on the car. Here are some more particulars that will be helpful as well. The front and rear glass have the expected micro pitting andscratches, the rear glass has a portion where a sticker was sanded off before he bought the car. The shadow is of a Raiders emblem. The in dash radio is not hooked up, but works, so the rear radio is the working radio. He added the lower gauges because he like the look. There is a push button switch under the dash to start the car, which will start in any gear. Needs the switch to be fixed. The toggle switch was hooked up to give the coil a "boost".He is not sure if the windows leak, as the car hasn't been in the rain or wet in over 20 years. He said it is possible there are some leaks. No power antenna. The air conditioning blows cold. The car doesn't run hot.The engine is from a mid 1970's car.The side glass was replaced years ago.
It has the expected little drops of oil from what he says is probably the rear main seal, but I have seen the drops, and they are about the size of a pencil eraser every two weeks.Remember, this is a USED, 57 YEAR OLD CAR. NO WARRANTY, SOLD AS IS.The car is located in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca 91737. This deal is a cash only deal.If the car needs to be shipped, it will only happen after cash is in hand.No transfers, checks, etcNo private bidders or bidders with less than 10 feed backs. He will not sell the car if he doesn't get his price.
