Finished in gorgeous Mariner Blue over a brown interior, this 1950 Chevy 3100 truck was the recent recipient of a complete frame off restoration. The Chevrolet is very correctly restored down to the interior finishes and engine compartment detailing. With just 350 miles since completion, it is ready for your collection and enjoyment. So very few of these trucks are restored to stock configuration these days, with many dated custom trucks on the market
At the start of the restoration, the 3100 was removed from the frame and the body was stripped down to bare metal. The new paint is a two stage Dupont finish that after test miles, was just wet sanded and buffed out using all 3M Trizact products. All of the trim on the truck is new from front to rear and all of the seals are new as well. In keeping with the quality of the restoration, all of the glass was replaced as well as the window channel rubbers. The frame of the truck was wire wheeled and painted in the correct satin GM finish, and nearly all of the body hardware was replaced. The truck received brand new reproduction bumpers front and rear, a new chrome grill with ivory inserts, new headlight rings and bulbs, hood badges, chrome hood strip and park lights.
The interior was accurately restored using the correct flat brown metallic paint throughout. If you look closely, you can see that the steering wheel and column have been painted in the correct rose metallic. All of the soft parts in the interior have been replaced, and the seat has upgraded foam and a new cover.
The engine was completely taken down and rebuilt and painted the factory grey blue engine color. Everything else engine related was taken off and refurbished and painted to factory correct specifications. New engine components include fuel pump, water pump, and reconditioned radiator. The carb was totally gone through and rebuilt with all new gaskets. The original starter and generator rebuilt have been rebuilt and detailed. The truck still uses the correct the Fram oil filter and has been painted and detailed. The truck has new coolant lines, and the the ignition system consisting of the points, condenser, wires, plugs, coil, cap, and rotor all new. The clutch is also new as is the throw out bearing and pilot bearing.
The suspension system on the Chevrolet has been completely good through with all new shocks, steering components, bushings and wheel bearings. The brakes have been restored as well including the master cylinder, all hard lines and rubber brake hoses. The wheels are the hard to find 15" with Coker 2 3/4" white wall bias plys. They are all sporting brand new hubcaps and look sharp.
