Hi,
I am selling ourrare1974 corvette convertible stingray. A major change in life is forcing me to sell.1974 was the next to last year for convertible corvettes until after 1985 .Only 5474 convertibles were produced in 1974 and base convertible price $5765.00. This was also the next to last year "Stingray" was used on conv vettes and 1976 was the last year for stingray for the next 30+ years. This was also the last year for true dual exhaust and no catalytic converter.
We got the car about six years ago. The enginehad been gone through and built shortly before we bought the car. The engine is a small block chevy 350. It has a nice mediumcam, aluminum intake, 4 barrel carb, high volume oil pump, performance distributer, headers, andelectric fuel pump. It runs well. It never runs hot and has never overheated. The engine temp even on the hottest days with ac on rarely gets over 185*.
Over the last 3 years we painted it black, had a new black top installed, new acc black loop carpet, New black door panels, dash left and right, upper dash pad, kicker panels center console, the seats were recovere, seat padding, smaller diameter new steering wheel, inner and outer window sweeps, basically 98% of the interior is new. the seat belts are blue, they were on the list to be replaced. and the parking brake and needs to be replaced ( I am including a brand new never installed one) The mileage showing is 13473, I have no way to know if the it is correct. I know this is the original odometer. The title is Texas and where odometer reading goes says Exempt, so I have no way of knowing .
About three months ago I installed a center gauge cluster bezel to accommodate a modern Kenwood radio. The Kenwood has Bluetooth mp3 and satellite capabilities.( the Radio Manual is in the car)The speakers in the dash are infinity and I also believethe lower kick panel speakers are also infinity.
The air conditioning and heater system are new from Old Air Products. Ther134 systemwas ordered specifically ordered for this car and cost right around $1300.00 not including installation. With trying to keep thestringray as originalin appearance the ac controls are integrated into the originalheater vent defrost control. It is amazing compared to a original ac system.
Other parts that have been replaced include-
rear trailing arms and parking brakes( need to be adjusted), power steering pump, water pump,
heavy dutycopper radiator, fuel filter, outer door handles, door seals, roof seals, windows sweeps,
head lights, tail lights, turn signals, horns, White Hurst4spd shifter ball, antenna and a lot of small odds and ends. It does have tilt steering column, disc brakes (non-power) .
After replacing rear trailing arms and suspension components we took the little stingray down and had a four wheel alignment done at Total Performance here in League City. The Ac and other mechanical work was done at High Dollar Hobby Automotive in Dickenson.
I really hate to sell it, but health situations have forced major changes and it needs to find a new owner that will love this little corvette as much as we have.Title is in hand and good.
I can provide a video of a drive if needed.
I will work with shipping companies (buyer pays for shipping)
This car runs great. I have not had any engine or transmission issues since I have owned it.
