The '96 model marked the swan song for the C4 Corvette after a 12 year run. And it was a good run! Introduced in '84, the C4 went through many changes during it's time in the spotlight. One of the many significant one's was of course the introduction of the ZR-1. With its, 32 valve LT-5 V-8, it was the most advanced and exotic Corvette built up to that point and remains the only twin cam engine’d Corvette ever built! Corvette was looking to do something special to give the C4 a proper send off. But, since production of the ZR-1 had ended a year before in '95, a special model was in order to commemorate the end of the line. So, it was decided that the Grand Sport moniker was to be brought out of mothballs and placed on the fenders of a new Corvette. This Grand Sport featured a 330 (under rated) hp, 350 V-8 with 6-spd manual transmission, special Admiral Blue paint with White stripes and Red hash marks on the left front fender. Coupes featured rear fender flares to accommodate the huge ZR-1 sized 315/35/ZR17 rear tires. Only 1000 Grand Sports were built, and each had a special V.I.N. A fitting sendoff indeed!
This Grand Sport featured here is a 35k mile two owner, local So. Cal car that's in show condition throughout. And not only is it in show condition, it's also a multiple show winner, as evidenced but the photo below. We seldom get '96 Grand Sports in, but when we do, they go fast! This is one of the good ones. So don't miss your opportunity to own this C4 classic! Comes with owner's kit, Window Sticker, Build Sheet, and spare keys.
