Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to showcase this beautiful #'s matching 454 powered 1972 Chevrolet Corvette T-Top Coupe. This car has been long-time owned by a gentleman who has cared for this car meticulously. It has had only around 1500 miles logged under his ownership. The original engine has been rebuilt to high performance specifications with LS6 equipment along with GM rectangle port high performance cylinder heads. Be sure to play our video and you'll understand that this is no ordinary Corvette. We hope you enjoy our presentation. Feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.
The exterior displays one quality driver repaint of the original code 945 Bryar Blue. There were only 1,617 Corvettes ordered in this metallic blue color for 1972.The body panel fit is exceptional throughout this Corvette. The fender gaps are correct as is the door fit and hood.
1972 is arguably the best year for the Corvette C3. You have the refined Stingray body along with the last year chromed front bumper. These cars are fast appreciating in value and desirability has and will always be high for the '72 Corvette. This is your opportunity to own a special one, a long-time private owned example with some tasteful GM correct performance upgrades along with the correct color combination of Bryar Blue against blue interior. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. The 4-speed manual Muncie transmission moves through the gears with authority and the clutch grips strong.
This is the original 454 engine block born to this Corvette. Engine suffix stamping is CBH, the block stamping matches the VIN as well - 12S516416, see photos posted below. This is a special engine that has been performance built with vintage GM parts, see below.
This original 454 big block engine was professionally rebuilt. A performance spec. cam was installed along with upgraded induction consisting of a GM Winter's casted performance aluminum intake #3963569 along with high performance GM big rectangle port cylinder heads #3919840. Originally rated at 270 horsepower, this powerplant is pushing closer to 435 horsepower by our professional estimate. It runs and sounds excellent. Be sure to play the video. The ignition system has been upgraded with an HEI type high power distributor.
The chromed bumpers are in excellent condition as are the distinctive egg crate grilles & factory 15-inch Rally Wheels. The wheels wear updated B.F. Goodrich radial T/As all around, sized at 245/60R15s.
The custom dual exhaust system sounds excellent and exits out of the rear valance as it was originally designed.
The original trim identification plate and VIN plate are intact and legible. The windshield pillars are in excellent condition as well.
Open the doors to 1972. This blue interior is absolutely correct throughout and in very good condition.
The dash is clean and straight without distortion or cracking. The factory gauges (speedometer, tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure) are functional including the clock. The door panels show as new and the door undersides are excellent.
The original AM/FM Delco stereo works great. The center console is also in very good condition, there is a wood grain insert on the shifter plate, unique to the deluxe interior Corvettes, although this car was ordered with the standard blue interior.
The upholstery shows well. There is a minor tear on the driver's side bolster (photographed down low, look closely). The door panels are clean and detailed and the door undersides are solid. The door weatherstrip is original and intact, could use replacement. The rear storage doors and carpeting is in good condition with the t-top straps still in place, photographed further below. The interior lighting is also functional. The undercarriage displays a host of suspension work performed front to back along with custom dual exhaust with muffler delete. This Corvette sounds excellent, again be sure to play the video. We DO have the spare tire carrier.
The rear suspension has been completely overhauled. The leaf spring has been replaced along with the trailing arms and bushings left to right.
The front suspension was also previously rebuilt with polyurethane bushings in the A-Arms. This Corvette drives excellent.
The frame is un-detailed and solid throughout. There is some surface rust photographed, however the structure is solid throughout. I also want to mention again that the spare tire carrier is available and included with this Corvette.
The carpeting and storage doors show well.
The T-top roof panels are color-keyed and in excellent condition as are the t-top inserts. The rubber is also intact throughout the t-tops.
I also want to mention both the wiper door assembly and headlamp doors are fully functional.
Enjoy our remaining photos and again feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions or concerns. This is your opportunity to own a very desirable 1972 Chevrolet Corvette 454 T-Top Coupe.
Again, the door rubber appears to be original and could use replacement, although it is intact.
