1966 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE 427/390 ALL MATCHING NUMBERS "NO RESERVE"
1966 Chevrolet Corvette Description
NO ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS!! This is a real numbers matching original 427/390 Corvette convertible with a 4-speed and side exhaust. Unlike most of these corvettes being offered by Dealers, this car is privately owned and this a private sale. The car has been off the road since 1984 and garaged since. It has been framed off restored at some point as evidence of a older highly detailed framed under pinning showing evidence of a restoration. So the car is a 30 plus year old restoration that still looks great for a driver but not quit show, all though I have seen cars at local shows looking not as nice. It has the original 427 numbers matching engine, it is missing the distributor shielding and wrong plug wires, a circa 80's flex fan has also been added. When I purchased the car I had the fluids gone through and flushed, brakes brought up to a great pedal and working well. The engine was tuned, carburetor is new, and runs and sounds great. The car was just recently aligned and has over 10 hours invested to have it track straight down the road, as well as a new power steering box and lines were replaced, both high compression. I checked the numbers and they are matching, the suffix code as I can read them are 1210IL(I believe that it's December/10th day, IL is the 427/390 manual transmission, block casting number is 3869942. Also according to the corvette NCRS guidelines for the engines decoding for the car was produced between Nov (#7187 Corvette) and December (#9892 Corvette) With averaging 136 Corvettes produced ( estimate as they produced 2705 corvettes that month) that indeed the dates are spot on. I have the car stored in a garage and have driven it locally and drives very well. It is currently off the road and stored. It has the following options: Soft ray tinted glass and windshield ( A01) & (A02) posi-traction rear (G81, 427/390 HP engine (L36) 4-speed manual transmission (M20) power steering (N40) Side exhaust (N14) Teak wood Wheel (N32) & AM/FM Radio (U69). Original color Milano maroon (988) with Black interior. All the lights are working. the dash illumination all work, glove box door works, turn signals working, reverse lights working, speedometer is working/ tachometer is working, oil, amp, temp, fuel gauges are all working. The wipers, radio and horn do not work. I have not yet checked the fuses But I suspect it is simple. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!If you are interested feel free to make me an offer. I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER, but I am the owner titled and insured in my name. There is no hardtop. Car is an honest car and very clean.I can be reached @ 516-567-2721 Mike
