96 Chevrolet Camaro,T-Tops, custom exhaust, 5 spd, V-6 Firebird Fiero Mustang
1996 Chevrolet Camaro Base with T-Tops Description
DO NOT let the high mileage scare you. This car has been taken care of and the 3800 Series 2 engine is a legend in the GM lineup for going, and going, and going.
- Daily driver with historic plates. Reliable as any car I've ever owned.
- The rake of this car's windshield is truly "amazingly radical" that rates right up there with Lambo orother exoticwindshield rake angles. So aerodynamic. This was the body style that was more angular, before the Camaro and Firebird went to the more rounded "bio-morph" curves of the 1998 model year. The thin headlights also contribute to the slicing through the air look......uh, you can tell I really like this car LoL!
- A blast to drive through the New England and eastern seaboard areas with all thecolorful fall leaves visible through the T-Top (sealsappear to be good and I have never noticed leakage).
- 5 speed shifts smooth as butter with no notchiness anywhere in shift pattern. Overdrive 5th gear really drops the RPMs and can cruise all day long with any V-8 out there.
- Solid clutch. Proper travel. No slippage whatsoever.
- Custom exhaust has nice growl on start up but isn't overbearing with the neighbors. Everyone thinks it has a V8 under the hood.
- No rust: wheel wells are clean, no bubbles under paint that I've noticed. If there is any surfaceruston chassis underneathit is so minimal that I've nevernoticed any whenon mechanic's creeperchanging the oil (Mobil Synthetic 10W-30 every 5K religiously).
- All gauges working. Service engine soon light is on but haven't researched as car drives impeccably down the road. Engine pulls well in every gear(no boy-racer here - adult owned and driven). No knocks or tapping.
- Temperature gauge shows temps as if a new car. No indications of problems brewing under the hood and I would strike out for anywhere in north America with this vehicle.
- Things to be fixed: passenger side outside door lock needs attention (barrel spins) and driver's side remote mirror needs interior trim piece (remote still works). Dash has the usual breakup and cracking so have a new dash cover onorder to cover it.
- New ball joints last summer so car tracks straight and true (although steering wheel is a little crooked when driving a straight line). Tires are balanced-no vibrations.
- Non-smoker's car.
- Has burglar alarm. Sony CD/AM/FM head unit with a small amp but I'm an old duffer that listens to talk radio so not the one to tout the fidelity of the sound system LoL!
- Could use a new hood strut to keep the hood open.
- Newer tires with 90% +tread remaining.
- All new A/C parts replaced last summer so blows cold. Heater also works great.
- Could use shocks in the back as when carrying a load the suspension has bottomed a time or two. That rear hatchback area with the rear seats folded down is CAVERNOUS back there!
- Doesn't use oil and I see no drips of any liquids underneath.
- Vehicle history report shows minor accident back in 2006 but I can't see anywhere on the car that would indicate so the repair was definitely done correctly by someone who knew what they were doing.
- Report also shows fleet use which is bogus as I have NEVER seen a 5 speed manual car used in anyone's fleet ever.
- Moving forces sale asI have too many toysto try and cart all the wayto AZ!
- If you have any questions - ask! If in the area (near Dunkirk, MD) I can meet you at the McDonalds if you'd like to check out the car - - just use "ask buyer a question" buttonso we can coordinate a time to meet up.
- This is a cool car with a timeless aerodynamic shape. I just returned from Germany and these cars are worshipped over there!
- Local pick up preferred. Fly into BW, I'll pick you up, and you can drive it home!
