1956 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
1956 Chevrolet Corvette Description
This 1956 Corvette just finished a 3-year body off restoration. Rebuilt with a period correct 225 HP 265 engine, 3-speed transmission, and includes the rare, early 1956 heads, intake, and carbs. Most everything on this car was rebuilt or replaced, striving to keep it as original as possible (the radio speaker is missing). It is believed that this car has been in the Des Moines, Iowa, area its whole life. Its history includes racing at the Des Moines Drag Way during the 1960s. It was called the "Mighty Mouse" since it raced against cars with bigger engines. In 1967, when the drag way closed, the car was dismantled with the intent to be restored. However, it remained in pieces until I purchased the car in 2012. I preformed a complete frame up restoration which was finished in 2015. During the summer of 2015 my wife and I entered the car in five local car shows.
