1968 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport Description
Matching numbers 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 with protect-o-plate. The original 302 motor and Muncie M-21 transmission have 1 mile on them since professionally rebuilt! A new clutch, pressure plate throw out bearing, pilot bearing, gas tank and body bushings were also replaced. The original 3.73:1 12 bolt posi-traction rear end has been flushed and refilled with new fluid. The complete brake system has been rebuilt including the brake booster, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and front calipers. The interior is all original except the package tray and the carpet. Everything works except the clock, radio and the right headlight door (bad actuator). This is a very clean unrestored car that still retains almost all of the original parts. The original 780 "DZ" Holley carburetor was professionally rebuilt and replated, it has the original intake, water neck, oil fill neck, valve covers, air cleaner, distributor, alternator, starter, battery cables, fan, exhaust manifolds, heads, block, rear end with the red posi tag, transmission, shifter, fly wheel, driveshaft, 4 leaf springs, rear end, pitman arm, all five "DF" wheels, beauty rings, center caps, jack, spare tire and even the original keys with the knock outs! I have several pictures of the motor, heads and transmission during the rebuild with all of the casting numbers and date codes. The car sounds amazing with the 30/30 solid lift camshaft, it runs, drives, steers and brakes as it should, but the (new) tires are dry rotted from sitting so long. There were only 7,199 68 Z/28's built and this one was originally Corvette Bronze with black stripes, factory Tic-toc-tach with console gauges, front and rear spoilers and the Rally Sport package, making it very rare and a very desirable car to add to your collection! This is the real deal with a Protect-o-plate (all numbers match the drive-train) so don't let this one get away, there aren't many like this left!
