Why is this car for sale? Read below...

I am selling this car for my In-laws. This Chevy was purchased by my In-laws in 1968 and has been owned by them since (it has a 1968 Nebraska title). They brought their oldest son home from the hospital in it after he was born that year. Fast forward to 1996 and I married into a Fireman’s family. In 1999 my Father-in-law was fighting a fire and fell through the ceiling of the blaze, landed on his oxygen tank, snapped his head back, and broke his neck in three locations. It was a very slow recovery and he was not able to return to his firefighter position, which he had been employed as since 1975. Forced to retire in 2002, he spent the next year having his beloved car restored to its current condition, spending approximately $23,000. Shortly after his retirement he developed early onset dementia and Alzheimer's. The car was driven maybe once per year, up until about 2010. Again, after restoring the car I had only seen it a couple of times…it was mostly just under the cover in their garage. Then came a strange blood cancer about a year ago. So, the money from the sale of the car will be used to pay for his medical care.
