1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble top Description
For Sale is a beautiful 1961 Impala SS Bubble top. It is equipped with the following factory options:
-- 348 tri-power engine rated at 350hp. It has same size valve as the famous 409 with the "609" heads. The head casting is "1147" This engine has factory solid lifters and solid cam. The engine has only 18,000 miles on it and has never been taken apart. This car was built at the end of 1961 models. Also equipped with the SS option, which included bucket seats, console, 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds, grab bar, SS badges and factory tacometer.
--Power steering, power brakes, power windows and auto headlight dimming. The factory tri-power air cleaner is in the trunk, in excellent shape.
--The car has received a frame off restoration. The paint is the factory color two tone with Dupont basecoast clearcoat. The exhaust pipes leading from the manifolds are 2 1/2" flowing into Flow Master mufflers.
--The interior is factory two tone blue and is brand new along with the carpets.
--Wheels and tires are brand new from a 2016 Corvette. 19" on back and 18" on front with Michelin tires.
--We changed the 3 speed automatic trans to a 4 speed 700R trans. The rear end is 3:73 posi.
This is truly a rare car which was built in Los Angles. Almost no rust found on car before restoration. Sticker on front windshield indicates that the car participated in car show way back in 1961.
