1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon 4-Door Description

95 Capr wgn 143k DCM

Up for bid is a 1995 Chevy Caprice Wagon with 143k two owner miles. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Base 2.56 gears; open rear end, rated for 3000 lbs. towing. Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. Relatively rare dark cherry metallic over grey interior with wood (most of these dark cherry woodies have tan or burgundy interior.) Condition Report
ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & good charging system. New fuel pump, new water pump. Starts easy and runs strong.
TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors.
EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very straight with a couple very small dings low on right quarter and left fender as seen in pics. No rust and no bondo. Above average. Paint: Paint is nice for age and all original except touch up on bumpers. Has a few scratches and chips consistent with age. Above average also. Wood: Upper wood trim was removed, painted tan and reinstalled so it won't peel like most do at this age. The side panel fake wood is in very good shape - all shiny and only a few nicks and chips and some defects on the tailgate.Other: Lower fake chrome trim has some fading. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage is solid with light surface rust as seen in pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses are solid. Tailgate sill and door jambs are also solid as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels have two center caps missing but are in good shape.
INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in good shape. Dash has no cracks. Cloth seating areas are in very nice shape. Carpet in seating area is very nice with some minor stains. Headliner has a few small tears as seen in pics, and there are some scratches on the rear passenger door panel. Steering wheel is in nice shape and dye is mostly intact. No smoke or pet odors. All four factory floormats in nice shape. Nice interior overall.
ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) The power antenna doesn't work but all other power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, rear window release, rear wiper, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster.
DRIVEABILITY: Drives out great. Steering is tight, alignment is good, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with good linings. Tires have about 60% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality radials. Solid, quiet original stainless steel exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere.
