1940 Chevrolet Sedan Description

Look through our inventory and you'll see a lot of 1940 Fords, but oddly, not many Chevrolets. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this gorgeous 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe two-door sedan. Tastefully built with a stout small block and a lot of luxury and convenience items, this is the perfect rod for the guy who likes to drive. The contrasting pewter bodywork and bright blue fender paint seems to glow in the sunlight and on the curvaceous Chevy's body it looks quite appealing, highlighting the shape without hiding the details. The body hasn't been chopped, although there are lots of little tricks to make it interesting up close. The Master Deluxe is already one of the most handsome cars of the era, with tidy proportions, cool faired-in headlights, and a timeless profile, but details like the one-piece hood, fender skirts, and a Vee'd windshield all make it look smooth without erasing its personality. Bodywork is nicely done, with the finish showing some signs of age but nothing that keeps it from attracting attention on the street. Much of the chrome remains intact, keeping it firmly rooted in the early 1940s, from the brightly chromed front grille to the hood insert running down each side to the handsome bumpers with a slick art-deco look. You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the high quality interior. The nicely finished bucket seats, custom made center console, and fully upholstered door panels all give it a very finished look that updates it without going too far into modern tech. Features include A/C, a tilt steering column, and a decent AM/FM stereo with speakers scattered throughout the passenger compartment. The dash was smoothed and reshaped, and now uses handsome TPI-Tech gauges for a cool effect against the blue paint. Things like the A/C vents and radio are nicely integrated for a very clean look and all the controls are located on a center stack that looks almost like it was put there by the factory. The back seat is quite spacious for two and just as well finished, while the trunk offers matching tan carpets and a custom enclosure for the battery.Cruising is easy thanks to the 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Making big horsepower and torque, it moves the slick coupe with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With an Edelbrock intake manifold and a 4-barrel carburetor, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a lot of fun out on the road. It's got a very cool high-tech look with finned valve covers painted Chevy Orange, a cool domed air cleaner, and modern accessories up front, all of which showcase the attention to detail found throughout the car. The stout small block is linked to an automatic transmission, so it's an effortless cruiser made for long-distance sprints. The rear end is a GM 10-bolt, so it's reliable and strong, and the suspension has been upgraded with power steering and power front disc brakes, making it a car that you can drive anywhere with confidence. Classic chrome wheels and baby moon hubcaps carry recent 195/75/15 whitewall radials that ride and handle well.Fully sorted and built for comfort, this awesome Chevy coupe is a great show and go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you drive it.
