1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS Description

REAL ORIGINAL FACTORY SS/396
FIRST year of this body style/design. Only year with definitive ID/VIN absolute confirm SS/396 capable. Drivetrain has never been out of the car.Under 40,000 original miles. Purchased 1968 in California, then sold 2005 to a Florida buyer, whom I purchased from this year. One repaint (originally gold*bed is the original color). Solid floors, bed, doors & tailgate. Only rust is on bottom of both front fenders & a small spot at bottom of the vinyl top mount area. Solid original hood with 3 quarter inch bolt holes at back center where the previous "rancher" had bull horns mounted. I now have Chevrolet racing flag metal mounts placed into the holes. Also, the rancher placed horse shoes on tailgate (horsepower?). Originally a saddle vinyl top; now is primed. Original interior. Excellent door panels & almost perfect dash/gauges/steering wheel (one crack in dash).Front disc power brakes; power steering. No A/C. Newer tires & battery.Excellent glass, trims & roll up actions. Underside pictures represent ALL conditions of the undersides. Factory undercoating still intact for the most part. Bed "surface rust" has been neutralized. NO accidents, ever. Doors, hood, & tailgate close flush, firm, & factory tolerances. Has original build sheet, glove box manual, "protecto plate" in the original factory/dealer booklet, etcetera.Besides its collectible value, as all know, this is an actual functional/useful machine. Enough power to haul, & even tow the significant "other"!
REAL ORIGINAL FACTORY LOW RUST LOW MILES SS/396. If you can accept a clone SS/beef replacement motor with prettier paint, this is not for you.
