Up for bids is a 1969 Chevrolet Shortbed Stepside. The truck has an inline 6 292 which was rebuilt about six years ago.The engine runs great and starts easy. The Chevy has a 4 speed on the floor with a 4.11 posi rear end. It is low geared and has amazing low end power. It drives in a straight line. It feels very solid and tightgoing down the road. I have had several people comment on the truck. It shows 63,325 on the odometer but I'm sure it has turned over.
The truck is completely original besides the cassette player. It used to be a school district truck and I would have imagined they maintained it regularly. It was also a forest servicetruck.I have the original owners manual in the plastic dealership sleeve.
The truck has a new battery, new heater blower, fresh oil change. It has rust issues on thedriver side floor and rocker panel. The areaswere patched by the prior ownerbut will need to be properly done during a restoration. There is small rust spots in the cab corners which have also been temporarily patched. The inside of the bed is very straight and all the wood is stillthere. The tailgate isdented pretty bad but opens and closes.Besides the minor dings and dents, this is an amazing straight truck with lots of potential. It would be an easy restoration but also had great patina and could be left alone and used as a daily driver as it has been all these years. All of the glass is in great condition with no cracks.
Local pickup only. A $500 deposit within 5 days after auction closing is required with PayPal. The truckwill be picked up with payment in fullwithin one month of auction closing. Truck is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull it from this auction at any timewhile the auction is active.
