BODYWORK/TRIM
The beneficiary of a quality, ground-up restoration, this gold-clad gem is the product of A LOT of time spent sweating details. From its correct vinyl roof to its rock-solid rockers, the car's straight profile displays craftsmanship that's nothing short of excellent. Not surprisingly, every seam between that metal's requisite D80 spoilers has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. Correct Olympic Gold paint highlights vivid Dover White Rally Stripes. And ultimately, it all adds up to one super impressive F-Body that's poised to show and ready to roll!
Correctly restored with Chevrolet's Style Trim Group, this brilliant coupe sports a bit more class than typical, run-of-the-mill Z/28s. At the front of its body, a requisite gray grille anchors a 2-tone "Z/28" emblem between bright halogen headlights, a guarded bumper and '69-exclusive parking lamps. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads the eye past a fiberglass cowl induction hood to like-new glass that's seated in straight stainless frames. Those frames reflect correct mirrors, traditional door handles and correct drip rails that trace correct Parchment vinyl. Opposite that vinyl, correct, black-trimmed rockers found correct wheel lips between simple fender emblems, correct quarter gills and small marker lamps. And at the back of the car, a Camaro-branded decklid caps a "Z/28" branded valance, which hangs '69-exclusive taillights over a second guarded bumper.
ENGINE
Straight from the General, Chevrolet's high performance 302 utilized high-flow, rectangular-port heads, a forged steel crank, forged steel rods and forged aluminum pistons to twist stout 11 to 1 compression into more than 350 horsepower! And when you check under this F1's bonnet, you'll find a spry Chevy small block that, according to its 3970010 casting number, is correct to first generation Z/28s. At the top of the dressed and detailed mill, a polished air cleaner swirls wind in to an exclusive Winters cross-ram intake thanks to familiar Holley carburetors. At the sides of that intake, authentic 'double hump' heads hang finned valve covers above shielded exhaust manifolds. At the back of those heads, a mandatory points distributor shoots spark through fresh Packard TV R Suppression cables. Naturally, the raucous V8's ancillary components are on-point, with a tagged Delco battery and a tagged Delco Moraine brake booster accompanying fresh GM hoses and era-correct smog equipment. And an evenly sprayed combination of Chevy Orange skin and Satin Black framing is capped by a correctly molded hood.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
The ferocious powerplant twists torque through a tough Muncie 4-speed, which twists a tough 12-bolt axle. That reliable drivetrain rides a fully rebuilt suspension, which centers a correct Saginaw steering box between correct disc and drum brakes. There's an aluminized exhaust system that makes excellent use of a transverse muffler. That system is framed by solid floors, which wear smooth, Satin Black paint. And those floors roll on 15-inch Rallys, which spin E70-15 Goodyear Wide Tread GTs around dent-free trim rings and correct turbine center caps.
INTERIOR
Open this Camaro's solid-closing doors and you'll find a correct Ivory & Black interior that wraps Standard trim around clean, classic style. A familiar bucket and bench seating layout features optional front headrests. In front of those seats, a '69-exclusive dash hangs an optional clock and modern, direct-fit cassette player behind a color-keyed pad and faux wood trim. At the base of that dash, a traditional F1 console frames correct accessory gauges in front of a factory Hurst shifter. Below that console, a quartet of floor mats protects like-new carpet. At the edges of that carpet, Standard door panels center small armrests in bright stainless hardware. In front of the driver, a fixed steering column spins a bowtie-branded steering wheel. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk conceals a full-size spare tire.
