History:
2nd Owner 1 family car (my family). Purchased new in 1978 from Nimnicht Chevrolet in Jacksonville, Florida; ordered out of a sales catalog. I still have the factory invoice from 1978 which is included in the sale. I purchased the car in 1999 from the original owner. It has always been properly serviced and maintained. The car was driven regularly until 2006, since then it has sat in my garage only driven occasionally. When I purchased the car it was bone stock matching #'s. In 1999 I had the original TH350 auto transmission rebuilt. In 2000 I had the car painted the correct factory code 15 Silver, but did not go back with the two-tone and decals. In 2001 I replaced the factory 305 2-barrel engine with a rebuilt period correct 350 4-barrel built to stock specs. I have done very little to the interior, it is mostly original. Car as spent its entire life in the south. Florida, Georgia, Texas, Alabama.
Body:
Never been in a wreck. There are some dents, dings, and scratches from parking lots and normal use. There are some spots of rust. All body panels, doors, fenders, quarters, hood are original to the car with the exception of the truck lid. The trunk lid was replaced in 2000 when the car was painted.
Paint:
Correct factory Code 15 Silver with base/clear. I did not go back with the two-tone silver lower / black upper and decals. Only the exterior was painted, jambs are original paint. It has some places where the clear coat is pealing. Has scratches, dents, and dings.
Wheels:
Factory 14 inch rally wheels at came with the car. In 2007 I had them sandblasted and repainted. At that same time I replaced the trim rims. The center caps are the originals.
Tires:
Uniroyal 215/70 r14 white letters. They have less than 100 miles of use on them.
Floor pans:
There is rust in the drivers side floor pans.
Trunk:
Full size spare with jack. There is some rust in the corners of the truck floor and on the trunk lid.
Interior:
Mostly original black vinyl interior. Fair condition. The dash is cracked. The door panels are fair, show some wear. Carpet is worn and torn in places. The seats are good except for the drivers' seat which is worn, torn and will need some work (or replacement). All plastic panels are good. There is no headliner. I replaced the factory radio with an alpine CD player and new speakers, sounds good. Has the gauge option with the tach.
Engine:
Period correct 350 4 barrel installed in 2001. 2 bolt main. It was built to stock specs. Not sure on the actual horse power. It has roughly 28,000 miles on it since rebuild. GM aluminum intake manifold and Rochester quadrajet carburetor. It does drip a bit of oil on occasion. I have always kept the oil changed as scheduled and fluids maintained. Has all correct hoses, vacuum lines, air cleaner, wires, etc. Never raced or abused. Cruise control is not hooked up. The car does sometimes sit for long periods of time, sometimes when I start it after it has been sitting the carburetor needs adjusting.
Transmission:
Automatic TH350. Rebuilt to stock specs in 1999. Still have receipt on this. Shifts exactly as it should. Does have a small drip.
Air Conditioner:
Since I have owned the car the air has never worked. I have never tried to fix it. All of the components are still there, even the belt to the compressor.
Exhaust:
I replaced the single exhaust with a true dual exhaust with aluminium 2.5 inch pipes and turbo mufflers. The pipes still look new. Smooth mellow sound.
Extra Parts:
Included with the sale if the buyer wants- 1 drivers side complete door, 1 passenger side complete door, 1 replacement used dash pad, factory 305 2 barrel engine, and any extra camaro parts that I have.
Car was never raced or ragged out. No add on aftermarket performance parts. I have always made it a point to use correct gm/delco parts when possible. I also have made every attempt to keep the car as "factory correct" as possible.
These cars are getting harder to find in unmolested condition. Your chance to own a nice looking, well maintained 2nd generation F-body at a reasonable price.
Please note this is a 37 year old car with scratches, dings, dents, rust, etc.
I have a clear Alabama Title.
I have described the condition of the car to the best of my ability. I have made every attempt to be completely honest about the condition of the car. If you are unsure of anything in the description please ask me a question about it. I also recommend a personal inspection if you are unsure about anything in the cars description. If you need more pictures please call, text, or email me.
