1986 el camino
1986 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista Description
This is a solid 86 Elky out of Louisiana. I bought it 3 years ago with the intent to make it my daily driver and get rid of my truck. I love the color scheme. I thought it was original paint, but I replaced a fender well molding and saw that it had been repainted the same original colors. It really needs repainted again. I have never had the time, and now the money and health, so I need to sell. It was totally rust free when I got it, but because it has sat, there is a tiny bubble on the lower right front door (see picture). I believe I am the 4th owner. The engine does smoke (prior owner informed me). I don't know if it's valve seals, a blocked oil galley, or a bad ring. Transmission is fine. I have well over 6K invested. What's new -tires, rear air shocks, heavy duty rear springs, inner and outer tie rod ends, front brake pads, rear shoes and hardware, rear wheel cylinders front brake hoses and the rear (center) brake hose. What's not working - A/C, electric door locks, radio, and cruise control (button missing in column). I have a brand new hard plastic dash cover that I never installed (see picture), and a brand new (in box) custom car cover that goes with it. The dash cover came from Dixie Monte Carlo. Their dash covers work really well. I used one on an earlier Elky that I owned. The center caps are reproductions. The beauty rings are the original aluminum. Two of them need replaced. A little TLC will make a great classic.
