1966 Chevy C10 Custom K10 4x4 dry Arizona original survivor barn find patina NR
1966 Chevrolet C-10 Description
For sale: 1966 Chevrolet C10/K10 4x4 original survivor dry westerntruck. Built in Fremont, CA and sold new at Madison Chevrolet in Scottsdale AZ,the truckwas driven and maintainedby the same gentleman for all it's 50 years(who I recently purchased from)- first for his brother's company, then as his own personal truck. The truck followed him and his career from Arizona to the Montana high desert, land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. It's never seen salt, and never beenabused.Very original truck with the following:
Original warrantybookletOriginal owner's manualProtect-O-PlateFactory build sheets(2) and SPID tagFuel and maintenance logFactory shop manualsOriginal factory tow hooksOriginal spare tire and holderOriginal jack, handle, and lug wrenchOriginal split rims included
Truly a special truck, and I will do my best to describe it below.
Exterior: All original paint and wearing a great patina. Spared from the horrible rot these trucks usually get by the dry western climate, there's only a few rustspots at the bottoms of the front fenders and rockers as shown in pics. Check the linked photobucket album below for detailed photos including undercarriage. Original wood bed is intact and solid. Really a straight old truck, there is a dent in drivers door as shown. Glass is good save windshield which is cracked and needs replaced. Drive as is with patina, or restore to the next level.
Interior: Original in decent condition as shown. Everything seems to be working including all gauges, heater, horn, turn signals (rear lights non-op), parking brake, etc. Seat has the original upholstery under the blanket cover, will need redone as micechewed ahole in the seat foam. Heater fan switch lever knob is broken but knob is included. If you wantedan originaltruck that hasn't been messed with, this could be yourtruck.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, drives and stops, but rear end has a badcarrier bearing that will need to be addressed immediately. Rolls fine with rear driveshaft removed, currently running off front end in 4wd. Original "Hi-torque" 292 runs well for 141k miles, does use some oil as would be expected. Truckhas been well maintained and cared for.Transmission and transfer case working well and still has the factory original hubs. I took the truck to a certified mechanic to be checked over, and he drained gas tank and put in fresh fuel in main cab tank, fuel gauge works. Auxiliary tanks are disconnected. Truck did have a plow on it for a time and there have been plow mounts welded to front frame as shown in pics. Currently running later 16 inch OEM steel wheels but original 15 inch split rims with 7.00-15 Michelins will be included. Original spare and holder is under truck and original jack, handle, and lug wrench are under the seat as factory issued. Does have pointless breaker distributor conversion. Everything seems to be working including gauges, heater, horn, lights(rear lights not working), parking brake, etc. Original oil bath air cleaner.
Pricing/Misc:Tried looking for comps, it's very hard to find a decent 4wd example of one of these trucks. I've seenrestored examples bring silly money at auctions I've attended. If you didwant to restore one for Barrett-Jackson, this would be the perfect candidate, and it would be cool if it came back home to Scottsdale. Trucks with great patina like this one are also very much in demand. Truck will sell with NO RESERVE. I don't think another like this will come along anytime soon, so bid to win.

You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the truckprior to bidding.I'm not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the truck, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly.Transport isreadily available, and probably cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Montana title isclearwith no liens. Truck runs, but flying in and driving the truck home isn't advisable. Rear end needs work, andthis is a rural state with a long way between towns and cell service is spotty. After the sale, I can store the truck for up to 30 days free, after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as car is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time. AS IS NO WARRANTY
