1964 Impala SS
This '64 SS has Old School Red's Hydraulics ( which were the biggest and badest back in the early 90's when the car was built )
It has 2 Red's pumps, 4 Delta / Sterling dumps, 8" cylinders in front and 12" cylinders in the back, with 8 12 volt batteries and 10 switches to control it all. One of the pumps runs the front and one pump runs the rear (each run 48 volts for speed). Each one of the 4 dumps controls one wheel and the switches, solenoids and dumps run 24 volts.
It is very efficient and fast this way and allows the car to be in any corner position, side to side, and front and back seesaw. The Impala was built this way so the hydraulics wouldn't hurt the car in any way. It is not able to hop or 3 wheel as it is set up. Things could easily be altered to allow the hydraulics to do that if desired.
The car has the original 327 with Powerglide transmission. It runs well and drives great. The brakes were all redone with minimal miles on them. It has a low % tint on theglass and is all in good condition including the windshield. The interior has been partially redone and the rest is in nice original condition.
This Impala SS was a father son job over 20 years agoand I have continued to enjoy it with my sons for the past 3 years. It has been well cared for and is an iconic car that a newownercan be proud to of .
