1966 Chevy II Nova SS true 118 Super Sport
1966 Chevrolet Nova SS Description
1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS. True 118 vin car. This super sport was cruising the streets in North Carolina from 1976 to 1981. From what I have heard that was the second owner of the car. In 1981 the owner sold it to his buddy in Knoxville, Tennessee. He drove the car for 3 years until his job took him out of town. The car was parked in a barn in 1984 and didn't see the light of day for 32 years. I found out about the car early this year and purchased it. I started a new business and haven't had the chance to even clean the car. I decided to list the car one time before the holidays. The car was originally Lemonwood but painted in the early 80's. It has a black interior but also received a custom quilted door panel treatment at the same time. I have not cleaned the upholstery but I did purchase a complete seat upholstery kit. The kit is still in the box and will be included with the sale. I was told the motor was a 327 sbc. I have not run any numbers to id the motor. It does have a 2 barrel it could be a 283. I have not attempted to start the car. One reason being that the keys were lost. I purchased a new complete lock set for the car. However, the motor is free. It has an automatic trans in it right now, but the clutch pedal is still hanging in the car. It has a 10 bolt rear under it. the car is equipped with drum brakes. Two of the drums had to be taken apart because they were frozen. The car comes with all 4 of its 14" SS wheel covers. The 2 ralley wheels on the front are not included with the purchase. The body is in pretty good shape overall. The floor pans are pretty nice. I found a small spot on the passenger's side rear. It's smaller then a dime. The car will need trunk work. Somebody installed a metal panel in the center of the trunk. The body is pretty nice. The driver's side is very nice. The passenger's rear quarter has a spot that you can see in the picture. The hood needs work but I was going to replace that with something different. I was going to drive the car as is after doing the mechanical. It is not a show car by any means but I wouldn't be embarrassed by it. The car is missing the front bumper, headliner, wiper arms and one piece of door moulding. Please feel free to email any questions. I encourage any inspections of the car during the auction. Thank you.
