1929 Chevrolet 4 door sedan
1929 Chevrolet Other AC Description
I have owned this car for the last 20 years. It is a rock solid car from the running boards all the way up to the roof. The only thing missing from this car is the chrome trim that goes on the front of the crank hole cover. I have seen them in catalogs just never ordered one. Since I have owened the car I have replaced all the wiring. sealed the gas tank, new exhaust,,cowl lacing, rebuilt the headlights, horn, distributor, radiator, generator, starter, and carburetor. I have acquired many manuals and original items such as an original tail light. This tail light is hard to find as it was one of the originals that had STOP written in the glass that illuminates when the brake is applied. These tail lights were coveted by old time street rodders and they became scarce. There is also an original Viking radiator cap and a factory optional heater. These items have not been installed on the car as of yet. This year is the first year that Chevy made a 6 cylinder. They outsold Ford for the first time with this 216 flathead 6. The motor in this car is complete including all the draft tubes ad oil return that are missing on most vehicles. One of the selling features on this car is the vision and ventilation windshield. There is a crank up by the rear view mirror that cranks the front windshield up a couple of inches in a track. There is an air scoop at the bottom of the windshield that catches the fresh air and blows in into the cab.The things that need to be done to this car are as follows. The tubes in the tires should be replaced as they are leaking. You may want to even replace the tires due to age. The fabric top needs to be installed, and a new kit comes with the car, This is not a difficult task as it is only a matter of nailing fabric to top, and covering nails with trim. Drivers door sagging and rubbing on cowl piece unless lifted when being closed. Carburetor should be cleaned or rebuilt. Brakes are stuck on as the emergency lever as left on.Lastly the pop out ignition button could use to be cleaned, once in a while it wont make good contact, but if you tap it it will. This is an amazingly solid car that is all there, It can be a daily driver with some finishing jobs, or it can be restored to its original beauty. I do not have a title as Ct does not title any vehicles 20 years or older. I do have the bill of sale when I bought it and the previous bill of sale (1983)and registration (1987). I also have a notarized bank affidavit from previous owner ( 1979 )that no liens exist. It would be no issues registering this vehicle in CT just make sure that your state will be ok with this paperwork. I am sadly selling this due to the death of my Dad and the inheritance of his car.Any Questions, please call me Roger 860-398-0321
