1961 Chevrolet Corvette Description

Up for bid is a 1961 Corvette gasser. It appears to be an original black on black car with a 6500 redline tach, indicating solid lifter cam. Original posi rear end still in place.It has an older repaint with some body work done above the front wheel wells and around the grille and headlights. Some cracks and bubbles but still has a good shine. Early Lucas headlight bulbs installed but not wired in. It has had seat covers and carpet installed at some point but the door panels are originals and show their age. It has a very strong, 12 to 1, 355 chevy with ported camel hump heads and a muncie 4 speed with a Hurst Ram Rod shifter. Chet Herbert solid lifter race cam and an Edlebrock dual quad intake, with 600 Carter AFB's, old white headers and no exhaust. There is a roll bar that appears to have been installed very early in the car's life. There is a chrome straight front axle with chrome radius rods and steering arms. Straight axle brackets are all bolted on so stock suspension can be reinstalled, original front crossmember, complete from drum to drum, included. Original vette brakes and spindles, backing plates are drilled and chromed. Very nice original frame, no rust, no cover ups, just 55 years or dirt and grime. There are no front bumpers and no top. Runs, drives, and stops. Still needs some details but it's a very unique corvette read to show and go. I will assist as much as possible with shipping but vehicle must be paid in full before I will release title or the car.

5.60 15 Firestones up front and 10" M/T Radir slicks on the rear, mounted on chrome steel wheels from Wheelsmith. Heater controls and radio have been replaced by an aluminum panel with 3 Stewart Warner gauges. Flipped shackles in the rear with vintage adjustable shocks. Chrome shocks for the front are included but not mounted. I have a stock hood that needs repairs and paint, will be included in sale. I also have one arm rest and a few small parts that will be included.
