2000 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 LS Description

391k going strong, just passed emissions, 13.8 mpg...Would be a super platform to soup up, LS 6.0 with iron heads, think of the mods (cheap) I am the second owner and this truck has been kept in a shop all of its life except on occasion when I have to go out of town...NO RUST...To roll around on creeper under it is just amazing...I hate to sell it because it seems like it would bring far more pleasure putting L-96 heads and new intake, possibly a turbo charger and just have fun...I can't think of a more solid platform to start with...I don't even know what to ask for it...Interior is perfect...Tires are perfect, the spare has been on the ground once, not for long...I was talking to a race car engine builder the other day and he said the engine is just now broken in...hehehe... okay... that WAS funny...He did say he seriously would not rebuild it and just do the mods and roll, the engine can certainly take it...He did say he would have the transmission beefed up while doing the mods. I said; so you don't think the 4L80E can take it? He said "no" he'd be looking to put 800-1000 hp at the rear wheels and it's most practical to go ahead and beef up the tranny to handle that much power...Heh, I got to laughing...The truck is clean... I was typing this for my garage section and noticed it had a tab to click 'sell this vehicle' so, I'm giving it a shot...With that in mind, I'll add that although I have replaced all steering components and shocks, bushings etc. It could use a steering gearbox, I don't think it's that bad but there is a little play, the alignment is perfect, tires perfect etc. Other than a small exhaust leak, that's it. It's a great truck...I just built a gooseneck trailer and had no way to move it so I installed gooseneck platform hitch rails in bed to pull it to the local pilot so that I could weigh it. I pulled the trailer twice to Pilot, you can see the evidence of the hitch just being installed, it's all brand new...New battery, new alternator (papers in glove box) lifetime warranty on NEW alternator, high dollar battery is like 3 year free replacement. The bed was looking poor from use/work so I had it painted. Then I decided to install a new bumper, then lights, then that made me want the new tailgate protector etc... on and on...I like the truck, I guess that's obvious...Brake controller of course...When I installed goose rails I hooked up the power wire to the 12v circuit for the trailer break away battery...In 2000, I guess GM didn't think everyone needed the auxiliary battery power wire, but they made provisions...Kind of funny... the in-bed gooseneck wiring harness is under the truck too, unused...Aftermarket Clarion Head Unit, aftermarket speakers and amp. I have the window sticker, laminated... Truck for sale locally, reserve right to sell...
