1991 Chevrolet Suburban Description

Up for sale is my really cool 1991 3/4 ton 2wd Chevrolet Suburban. This classic piece of automotive history may be just what you've been dreaming of. This was the last year of the squarebody Suburban.
This is a 2500 model featuring the big block 454 7.4L fuel injected Tonawanda monster engine with a big shiny K&N filter, heavy duty 4L80e transmission and big rear end. A force not to be reckoned with. Along with that comes with all the bells and whistles that 1991 had to offer such as power windows, power door locks, cruise control, power mirrors, tilt wheel, and power steering. It also has aftermarket running boards.
It of course has the 2500 package which includes tow package (hitch, 7 pin wiring, electronic trailer brakes with upgraded controller, 16" wheels, heavy duty springs, and transmission cooler.) the 16" Firestone tires have plenty of tread. Spare tire has never seen the road. Shocks were recently replaced.
It currently has 139,500 miles which is super low for a 1991.
On the inside, you will not find a much cleaner ride of this vintage. The seats are in near perfect condition. The carpet shows minimal wear and only a few light stains in the cargo area. There is a really nice aftermarket Alpine stereo with iPod connectivity, Kenwood amp and upgraded speakers that sounds fantastic. I upgraded the interior lighting to LEDs.
It has zero rust on the frame or body and only a few light spots of surface rust on the roof where clear coat has peeled.
You may ask, what is wrong with the truck? What does it need? Well I'm here to tell you. It is a 1991 and is not perfect. It has front and rear AC that has been converted to 134 but has since leaked down and needs recharging. The above mentioned clear coat and paint peeling on the roof. Rest of the truck shows ok but a paint job would make it shine. There is a couple of small dings in the rear door and one scrape by the gas door. Also there are two holes by the hood ornament, I'm assuming previous owner had a different ornament installed at some point. Otherwise body is really straight. However does have a few minor scratches and imperfections as expected from an older vehicle. It needs a headliner and a console latch, brakes work great but squeak sometimes. I'd squeal too if I was stopping all that Detroit iron. Like I said the stereo is awesome but it looks to have been installed by a toddler. Dash is cracked and hacked up for aftermarket speakers. New dash is available from classicindustries.com for $230 and was on my to do list. And finally parking brake warning light comes on intermittently but parking brake functions fine.
To sum it up, this is a really nice low mileage beast of a truck. Does not leak, does not smoke, does not disappoint. With a little work it could be a real show piece. It drives great and is ready to work. Only selling because I need a pickup. It has a clear title and is ready to go anywhere!
