1957 CHEVY PRO TOURING
What I have here is a completely RUST FREE 57 CHEVY 210 BEL AIR.
When I started on this project first thing I did was chemically dipped every thing to see what I had to work with, I mean every part from frame up! I could see that I had to replace the common rust issues on these cars, like quarters, front floors, trans hump, trunk sectioned. As the project started coming together I removed the pinch welds at the bottom of car it seems like they always get bent up over the years. Then hand made a new firewall as to fit the big block and make it so it looks factory. The inner front fenders I also spent time on louvering them as to let some air flow better. Custom 4 link, mini tubbed also channeled the custom cross member as to run the exhaust thru it. The quarters that were done I did with GM panels from another 57 car that I had to remove from. Did most metal work with GM METAL. I documented over 300 hrs in metal work alone.
Once metal work was done every part of chassis,rear end, bumper brackets, E brake bracket and what ever else I thought could use it I powder coated satin black.
Engine--1968 HI PERF 396 bored 30 over "402" Steel Crank stock GM RODS balanced & blue printed engine.
Ignition-- Mallory electronic ignition meant for edelbrock pro flo fuel system
Edelbrock Aluminum Heads & Pro Flo Fuel injection, Crane Roller Cam, Roller Lifters & Roller rockers. All roller motor
sanderson jethot coated headers
Transmission--Hughes 700R4 with 2500 stall
Rear end-- 9" Posi 370 gears with Aluminum third member "aka the pig"
Custom 4link with Qa1 adjustable coil over shocks
Brakes-- Baer front brakes 13" Rear brakes Baer 12"
Cooling-- Aluminum radiator & dual Spal electric fans
Ac-- Vintage air gen IV with stock ac vents in dash Ac control panel restored Glass-- All new glass with window felt kit 1 window style all power window mechs that have been pre fitted ready to install. The front door glass is 1 window I was planning on NOT HAVING WING WINDOW.
Wiring-- American Auto Wire
Gauges-- Custom rod gauges
Windshield wiper-- Raingear system
Fuel tank--Stainless gas tank with new sending unit
Dash trim is billet radio delete & clock delete....planned on doing small center console to hide fuel injection wiring & brain also put a stereo head unit there as well.
Steering-- Ididit steel tilt column.
All pedal covers dipsticks are LOKAR.
All side trim is original & restored to show quality.
California front bumper & wagon style rear bumber Re chromed to show quality. I have a grip of pics an can only list 24 so calls are welcome for needed info!
Everything I have listed is new I'm sure there's more that I have missed. this is a project of mine and for the most part it's all there & new. With exception to the interior the rear seat springs I did alter as to fit them for the mini tubbs. The original front seat is in excellent condition, The car can be finished in the color you desire. New steering wheel stock look but 15" in diameter, most pieces your not seeing like head light bezels rear tail light housings with lenses are in boxes brand new from Danchuk. Head light buckets and a lot of small pieces you are not seeing I have, just after powder coating they get wrapped. don't want to unwrap everything knowing it's getting shipped when car sells. Don't mind sending direct pics if needed
All brake and fuel lines have been hand made out of polished stainless steel, there is also a trans cooler that is aluminum finned.
Getting asked about selling car with out drive train, I would not have a problem with that at all as long as I am not working more to get less!
Also getting trade offers and I am not interested in any projects please.
Might consider a 66 nova, 70 cuda, or 69 camaro that are solid drivers NO
PROJECTS...DO NOT NEED ANY HELP SELLING CAR! NO 3RD PARTY SELLERS WASTING MY TIME!
