This is a car I've know about for the 10 years or so the owner has had it, he looked at many cars before he decided this was the one he wanted. You're looking at a car that has been built to have the old school hot rod look with many modern upgrades. This car retains all the original body panels with the exception of the hood and doesn't appear to have seen rust. This body is extremely clean, I put it on the lift so you can see that it never had rust repair underneath. The car retains the original black plates and with the Vintage Lions Drag Strip sticker on the back window, it probably spent it's early years in So. Cal.

The body is rust free from everything I saw and I didn't see any signs of any panel repairs. The paint was done before it was purchased, probably about 11 or 12 years old so it has a couple of chips that have been touched up. This isn't one of those trailer queens so there are imperfections but nothing that jump out unless you spend time looking up close. The hood was replaced because it had a fiberglass one installed when purchased and it wasn't that nice. This one was cutout for the blower and finished off on the inside, the trim on the front is actually modified from a 65 because he liked it better the 64 trim. The engine bay has been opened up because of the Mustang II clip so custom aprons were made and firewall smoothed for looks. The front clip is supported to the firewall with a brace for rigidity.

The interior is very clean looking, the seats are Recaro and it features a full custom instrumentation loaded with Auto Meter Gauges to monitor most every important function. The Steering column is tilt with a Momo steering wheel and the shifting is controlled via a B&M Pro Ratchet. Probably one of the surprises is the Classic Auto Air, A/C and heater, not too many like this with the comfort for a long drive on a hot day. The rest of the interior is stock except for the addition of matching upholstery on the back seat.

The engine is a purpose built Dart 427 "Stroker", it's 8.5:1 compression, features all blower ready internals "Quiet" gear drive and full roller valve train. This engine is topped off with a Weiand 6-71 Blower with 2 Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs and probably only has about 2,000 miles since installed. The engine is dressed nicely, it has billet everywhere, deep oil pan, a 130 amp alternator and fender well headers. The cooling system is excellent, it's custom made w/ 3 rows and is designed to slow the flow for better cooling. The radiator has a nice shroud and large electric fan to draw the air on the hot days. The car will run a little over 180 on a 100 degree day here with the A/C on. The transmission is a 700R4, it has a stall converter but unsure of rpm lock, it does feature large sun cage and Corvette servos. There is a large cooler with fan mounted under the car to keep it cool. The rear end is a Ford 9" with a Detroit Locker, it has 3.70:1 ratio so it runs 2,650 rpm at 65 mph. The rear end is attached with the traditional 4 link rear suspension and adjustable coil over shocks. The fuel is stored in a 15 gallon Aluminum cell with sump and delivered by a BG electric pump with 1/2 fuel lines. The battery is in the trunk in a SS box and it has a battery cut off at the rear.

He drove this car an 80+ mile round trip so I could take the pictures and get all the info to write this listing, very reliable and streetable car!

I'm sure I missed a bunch, this car has so many details it's impossible to list everything. This is a really cool car, I suspect it spent some time on the track in the past, the current owner has never raced it but doesn't let the spider webs build up in the exhaust either. He took me for a ride, it put a smile on my face and I know it won't disappoint you either. The owner is at the time in his life to spend it doing some traveling so it's time to pass on this nice car for someone else to enjoy.
There is no Buy-It-Now, you're welcome to make an offer and if agreeable a Buy-It-now can be added. There is no interest in any trades, he's got a Corvette convertible to take drives to the coast. The reserve is in line with other cars of the same caliber.
