1988 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, Fuel Injected 350 V-8, Rust Free Southwest Truck
1988 Chevrolet Blazer K-5 Description
1988 Chevrolet Blazer K-5 4X45.7 V-8 with throttle body fuel injection4 speed automaticlocking front hubs
This blazer is a rust free southwest desert truck. The motor is stock and does not appear to have been modified. The catalytic converter and air pump are still on. It is a factory a/c truck and has been changed over to R134. When I bought the blazer, it already was lifted and do not know the specifics about the lift. To me it seams that the lift and the wheel/tires are the only thing altered from stock. The one thing that was in bad shape when I got the truck was the interior. I replaced the full carpet and installed a dash cap to clean it up.
The following is a list of new parts within the last 500 miles:*spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and O2 sensor*carpet, center console, door sill plates, molded dash cover*door rubber seals, window channel, window seals*rebuilt rear driveshaft that was also balanced*stainless steel brake lines
The tires are new 35/12.5/15 BFG All-Terrain KOs. I am not driving the truck because the tires still have the little knobs on them and if I wear them off, can not show they are new.
Now for the issues with the truck,* the rear seat is original and some of the seams are coming undone* the temp gauge fluctuates all over the place. I replaced the sending unit and did not fix. I added the temp gauge under the dash and now have accurate reading. The new sending unit is in the glove box if you want to play with it.*the paint has some small issues that I took photos of.*mileage? The odometer goes to 99,999 and then rolls over. I am not the original owner and do not know miles. I think it has 101648 miles based on the condition of the truck. It does not smoke or act like a worn out motor.
