Chevrolet C1500 Pickup with 4.3L 6 cylinder engine and 8 foot bed
1995 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Silverado Description
Chevy C1500 Silverado Truck 1995 with the 4.3L 6 cylinder engine and 8 foot bed - This truck has been in the family for 10 years and kept in good shape. My mistake was to fly to Wichita KS to use it to bring a pop-up camper back to Colorado. I put new tires on battery and a trailer hitch on it before leaving. I also repaired the door handles on both sides which appear to be an issue with this vintage of truck. I also replaced the lock cylinder. On the way home the engine overheated, because there was a leak in the radiator. I was already committed to the trip and had to put in a new re-manufactured engine with a lifetime warranty. The engine warranty isn't transferable, but it is nice to know that the truck has a new engine in it. I had them replace many of the parts during the $2800 repair (New plugs, thermostat, manifold bolts, radiator, cap, sensors, water pump, distributor cap and rotor...). The steering was a little loose, so I also replace the Idler arm and Pitman Arm, which meant I had to have the alignment redone. I have also added loops for tie downs in the front and back of the bed.
Engine Replacement = 2800
Hitch, battery and door repairs = 700
New tires (4) = 700
Alignment = 100
There are no operational issues with the truck. You can see there is rust by the trim on the drivers side door and a dent on the passenger side door. It leaks a little motor oil, maybe a quart every 3000 miles. If I weren't 1000 miles from the person that installed the engine I would have had them take a look at it. I live in Frisco and am not really a project truck kind of guy, so I am selling this truck cheap.
