Based on the concept that was originally shown at the 2000 Detroit International Auto Show, the Chevrolet Super Sport Roadster, or SSR for short was put into production for 2002 model year. Inspired by the late-1940s Chevrolet trucks, specifically the 19471955 advance design pickups, this futuristic, yet retro design was to be a 2-Door, Hardtop Convertible, Pickup truck unlike anything they had previously designed.
Chevrolet's 5.3L 300HP V8 Engine mated to a 4-Spedd automatic transmission the SSR has the performance and reliability that Chevrolet is known for.
