1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Description

The bottom line on this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle is that it represents a pretty big bang for the buck. Fitted with all the go-fast options you want (396/4-speed), plus a cool color combination, it's definitely a blast to drive. It also has a clean look and nice workmanship that makes it stand out simply because it doesn't seem to be trying too hard. This bright red Chevelle was obviously restored from a very solid original car and the workmanship shows off some very straight metal. It isn't perfect, of course, but it's got a factory look that suggests a lot of performance without having to resort to stripes and wings. It shines up beautifully and will certainly turn heads wherever it goes. We love the standard hood with the chrome inserts, always a better choice than a generic cowl induction piece, and since it's wearing SS badges, everyone's going to know there's serious blasting powder under the hood anyway. Nice chrome accents the black grille, and the bumpers have obviously been refinished. The black vinyl top is a nice touch, adding a sense of formality to the sporty Chevelle, and there are no signs of trouble underneath, always a relief when dealing with an old car and a vinyl top. This car was spec'd just the way you'd do it yourself: sumptuous bucket seats, a console, 4-speed transmission, and little else to slow it down. Like the bodywork, everything was finished to a standard that looks factory-issue. The seams on the seat covers are like they were printed with a T-square, the gauges show bright, crisp markings, and there are accessory gauges under the dash, including a monster tach and shift light, although it's a little out of your line of sight down there on the passenger's side. A later AM/FM radio lives in the center of the dash, but let's face it, you're not buying this car because of the sound system. The console houses a clock that's one of the coolest factory dials we've ever seen and everything remains in very, very nice condition. Even the trunk is in good order, carrying a bias-ply spare and ultra-clean trunk pans that need only a factory mat. With 396 cubic inches and an advertised 375 horsepower on tap, this Chevelle is a lot more than just a pretty face. The gnarly big block was fully rebuilt for combat and offers a few choice upgrades to build horsepower. Chevy Orange paint, an open-element air cleaner, reproduction decals, and aluminum big block valve covers all scream Bowtie performance. Upgrades include a Holley carburetor on a polished Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD ignition system, and an aluminum radiator up front. The Muncie 4-speed manual transmission powers a rugged 12-bolt rear with a reinforced cover for heavy-duty use. The stainless dual exhaust system includes cut-outs for when you really want it to cackle, but even properly buttoned-up, it sounds nasty. It's also carrying recent shocks and a set of old-style Torque Thrust wheels and fat 225/70/15 BFG rubber all around.Nicely built, very powerful, and a ton of fun to drive, this Chevelle gets everything right. At this price, you can have a lot of fun and not worry about losing your investment. Call today!
