It's finally time to let go of my trusty, "Rusty" work truck. I named it "Rusty" because, well, as you can see from the pictures, the body is in terribly rusty condition, mostly from weather and road salts. Mechanically, it's not so bad. I just can't afford to put any more money into it. I need to sell the whole vehicle all at once, and not part it out. I just don't have the time and space for that.
It does have a GOOD 2.8 Liter V6 engine, which was a remanufactured long block I bought from Jasper Rebuilders through NAPA in 2004. It has a standard Holly 2 barrelcarburetor. The transmission is also good, and was rebuilt last year by a local shop. It does leak a little transmission fluid and the engine leaks a little oil. Tinkles on the driveway. Front axles, rear axles, differentials and driveline are in good shape, too. It has never been in a wreck, that I know of. I will also include afull-sized spare tire.
The major problems that I do know of are: 1.) The transfer case has issues. It pops out of 2WD or 4WD when it wants to, usually at the most inopportune times. I think it's an intermediate gear in the transfer case or something. Not really safe to drive in that condition. 2.) The front end is getting loose; it needs bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends. Can't be aligned anymore. 3.) Needs tires on the front, because of the wear on the front end parts. 4.) Windshield is very cracked from stones, and weather. 5.) Windshield wipers work, but with a switch that I modded in. The all-in-one switch on the turn signal lever is shot, andfalling apart. But, the turn signals work. 6.) Left rear turn signal light lens is busted, but I will include two replacements, shown inthe picture. 7.) No headliner inside, itsuccumbed to the Colorado climate. 8.) The drivers seat is a power model, but it's not hooked up to power, yet. 9.) Center console between the front seats is missing. 10.) Driver's and Passenger door weather seals are "shrinking" from the dry climate.
