1965 Chevrolet Impala Description

Hello. You are bidding on a 1965 Impala. It is originally a factory big block 396 car per the vin, and still has the original badging on the fender. Original paint color is red.

Condition is as follows:

Body:

Overall very solid bodywith original GM panels. Has dings and minor dents but has never had a high speed accident or buckled quarter panels etc.Quarter panels, trunk extensions, floors, frame rails, roof, gutters, doors, jambs, etc are all solid. Upon an eventual repaint, expect some minor body work needed around the car, but no major panel replacement. The only rust is small spots just starting on the bottom of both front fenders and some small spots rearward of the right rear wheel well opening. Other than that, a fair job was done patching the trunk floor, note the pictures of that. Doors open and close good.

Interior:

Fairdriver condition as you can see, butbasicly complete and mostly serviceable as is. Needs odds and ends.Console is just sitting in the car for pictures but is not bolted down.

Drivetrain:

Engine was rebuilt by previous owner and has a decent amount of speed equipment on and inside the motor including HEI ignition, Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, etc. Other than needing the choke hooked up and sometinkering andadjustment, this motor runs excellent and does not smoke. Thisis actually a pretty fast street car, very respectable in the power department. Transmission is a Muncie 4 speed that feels tight and shifts well, but I have no idea any history on it.Could use the shifter adjusted as it takes a tickle to get in and out of reverse. Rear end feels tight. Rear is a 12 bolt posi somewhere in the 3:50 gear range. Exhaust is newer with Flowmasters and X pipe. Needs a new rear tailpipe hanger. Front end looks decent and I don't see any visually loose parts but may or may not need alignment. I haven't had a chance to drive the car any real distance. Needs brake work... Brakes stop the car but has an excessive pull to the right when braking hard. Do not drive this car without inspecting and repairing the brakes. Head and taillights work, but brake and turn signals do not. This may be something simple but I never dug into it. Tires are decent.

Overall: Solidcar with good drivetrain for driver or restoration needing minor things fixed around the car to be a daily driver.

I have described this car honestly and to the best of my knowledge, but please, if you need additional pictures or have any specific questions please ask BEFORE bidding as this sale is final with no warranty.
