1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Base Coupe 2-Door Description

Heading up the short list of cars from the '80s that are sure to be future collectables is this 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS coupe. The most sporting version of an all-time favorite, it has a classic performance look and style that remains quite appealing today. So to find one in an exceptionally well preserved in a rare color combo, and priced right, makes it an irresistible couple. For Monte Carlo fans, this one is it. 1983 was the return of the beloved Super Sport model after more than a decade's absence, and it is the rarest year of all these fourth generation SS coupes. Sure, these look great in black or white, but when was the last time you saw one of these in its factory-correct Dark Blue Metallic? It was only offered in the first couple of years, so Monte Carlo fans instantly know you have an early one. There has been a lot of care that has gone into this coupe. One professional respray has been done so well that the paint looks original, it also still has an even appearance and terrific shine. Even the wraparound blue striping and decals look like the factory pieces. That's particularly important because the overall package this well preserved is a big "wow" factor. The sporty urethane chin spoiler and unique nose give the SS its NASCAR-inspired attitude and a subtle deck lid spoiler reinforces that it's a grown-up hot rod, not a boy racer. There's no room for chrome with body-colored bumpers and trim, which gives this classic a modern and sporty overall appearance. But because this is a true American classic, they did have to leave room for brightwork, and now that comes from the updated Rally wheel package. The interior is just as interesting, original, and nicely presented as the exterior. The two-tone blue and white is really quite striking, and only came on earl SS cars, so you'll be eager to show it off. The cloth front seats look great with the Super Sport logo in the headrests (another early car only feature.) You have a fold-down center armrest, so it's your choice to seat six total or have the individual comfort you expect in any Monte Carlo. It's a luxury performance car, so you get plenty of comfort features such as cruise control, tilt wheel, electric rear defogger, the original AM/FM/cassette stereo, and air conditioning that's running modern R134a for easy servicing. The driver faces a sporty round full gauge panel, and there's plenty of wood paneling to complete this luxury and performance image. On a Monte Carlo this original so far, it's great to see such an honest engine bay. The 305 cubic-inch small block V8 under the hood is a strong runner with plenty of old-school muscle car torque. The condition of the whole car is exactly what you would expect on a coupe that has averaged less than 1,000 miles annually. Linked to a trusty TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, it's a fantastic highway cruiser. The suspension is tuned to be entertaining but you can still feel this car's luxury coupe origins underneath, so it's great for road trips. It even has power steering and front disc brakes to keep you in complete control.Beautiful, unique, and affordable, it is going to be hard to beat this well-preserved Monte Carlo SS. This is a distinct way to own and enjoy the new class of classics. Call today!!!
