The 1994-1995-1996 Impala SS represents one of the best luxury sedans made by GM.

GM decided to sell a public version of their “Police Interceptor”. Simply stated, the basic Impala design was improved through the addition of a heavy duty suspension, upgraded brakes and lowered “stance”. The heart of the vehicle is the famed Corvette LT-1 V8 delivering at least 260 HP (independent tests indicated that the actual power was 300+, but GM didn’t want alarm anyone). A popular magazine compared the Impala SS to a Mercedes S Class Sedan. The Impala won the comparison, at a price that was 2/3 less.
