1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 Description

1955 Chevrolet 2nd series ½ ton short bed

For sale, a rare 1955 Chevrolet 2nd series ½ ton short bed pick-up; 350 V-8, 350 auto, 12 bolt 3.73:1 posi rear, and independent frontend.

The truck has a new windshield & rubber, new door seals, new window fuzzies, dual exhaust, new tires Coker wide white radials (215/75/15 front, 225/75/15 rear) reversed steel wheels on the rear and stock on the front, new gas tank and sending unit, new master cylinder, new tail lights, new seat upholstery, and new carpet.

All the lights work, including the dome light, courtesy light, license plate light and glove box light; the turn signals work, all the factory gauges work (except the amp gauge), the original factory deluxe heater works, the original 12v electric wipers work, and the emergency brake works.

This truck has a nice healthy 350 V-8 with a healthy sounding cam, it has a Holley aluminum 4bbl intake, and a Rochester Quadra-jet 4bbl, the engine is hooked to a very nice shifting turbo 350 auto with a floor shifter, and it has a 1966 6 lug 12 bolt 3.73:1 posi rear axle.

Under the front of the truck is a 1966 Chevrolet independent ½ ton frontend with coil springs, 6 lug drum brakes, and manual steering. So the truck is still a true ½ ton and not part Pinto. These front ends are easy to upgrade to power disc brakes, dropped spindles, and power steering if you want too. The truck runs and drives great as is and it has lots of power.

Inside, the truck has the original stock seat that has been rebuilt and recovered with marine grade black vinyl with a Zodiac metallic vinyl insert; it has a 1966 Chevrolet ½ ton steering column with turn signals, and a nice original 1955 Chevrolet 210 car steering wheel. All the glass is good with no cracks; the windshield is new, as is the driver side wing window, and driver side door glass. The truck has a new windshield rubber, new wing window seals, and new window fuzzies in the doors.

The bed has a new plywood floor with bed strips; the stock original rear blade bumper is still on the truck, and the original license plate light works.

1955 was a half year for these trucks, as Chevrolet was changing body styles on their passenger car line, the trucks had to wait half a year, so half the trucks built in 1955 were carried over 1954 trucks and then the new body style started late in the year. Thus making 1955 Chevrolet and GMC 2nd series trucks very rare; this truck does have a 1956 hood emblem on it though.

This is a very nice driving truck that is still a true ½ ton truck, it could be used as a truck, and it could tow a trailer if you wanted too. The paint is driver quality, the trucks fit and finish is driver quality, this is not a 45,000 dollar show truck. This is a great daily driver or weekend cruiser, it shows well and gets thumbs up everywhere it goes, and it has won several awards at local small car shows. That being said it has a few flaws and rock chips, and all the panel gaps are not perfect, it has some body filler in the cab corners, and someone cut the dash years ago for a radio (it’s not bad but not stock either) I have a stock 1955 Car radio for it that fits the dash well, it has a 1955 210 car radio delete plate now, I also have the rare original overhead speaker and speaker cover. The truck could easily be made into a show truck with a few dollars, but why it is a perfect driver that never lets you down and is a blast to drive.

I’m not asking a perfect truck price either; my reserve is way less than 1/3rd a show trucks price.

The 1955 Washington license plate on the truck is not included with the truck, (it’s off my 1955 210)

I hate to sell the truck but a friend offered me a car I have been wanting for years so I have to sell this truck to make room.

This truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime.

Please bid to own and Thank You for viewing my listing.

Due to the fact that this is an 70+ year old used truck and I cannot control how it will be used by the new owner there is no warranty or returns. This truck is sold as-is where-is. What I have listed and what you see on the truck in the pictures is what I have and what you get.

I will need a $800.00 non-refundable deposit within 5 days of sale, and then balance must be paid in full within 10 days of end of auction. If not paid within 10 days the truck will be re-listed and deposit not returned. (I will work with you if there is a good excuse. I will not lower price though). I will not charge storage on the truck, if the truck is paid for it can be stored at my home for awhile (1 or 2 months, not a year) until shipping is arranged.

I will not arrange shipping for the truck that is up to you the buyer but I will work with you and your shipper in any way I can.

I highly recommend Reliable Carriers Inc,http://www.reliablecarriers.com/I’ve used them several times, as have friends of mine, and we have always had great service.
