1980 Chevrolet Corvette Description
1980 Corvett, 38, 4sp, black on blac, t-topsGeneral description :Body: fiberglass body, fiberglass t-tops. no external antenna. No other known body mods. Paint needs work but shows good from a distance. Usual C3 issues with bumpers, some cracks, cracked dash, sun heat worn steering wheel, and seats. etc,. All parts are there as far as I know.-Doors close well. seals keep rain out for the most part (not stored uncovered) Power windows work. Lights work. wipers work. tops fit well and come on and off easily. Have covers for tops. seat covers included.-Engine: newly built 383 stroker (350 bored and stroked to 383) Powerful engine. Broken in correctly with professional machine work. About 3,500 miles on new motor. Internally balanced at the flywheel. Externally balanced at the harmonic balancer. All new engine parts: starter,water pump, fuel pump, alternator, power steering pump, battery, etc. New clutch and pressure plate. new clutch fork. new mounts. Edelbrock thunder AVS carb. Pretty well tuned. HEI distributor, new sensors. Big full-length headers and true dual exhaust withdyne max mufflers. Sounds mean at idle butwon't bring the cops running.-Transmission is a built-up super t-10. shifts fine.-4 core aluminum radiator. bypass shutoff for heater core for summer driving.doesn't overheat, but can run a bit hot due to headers. headers wrapped to reduce heat.-original corvette rims. good front tires. fair rear tires 255 60 15 oversized tires. makes steering pretty tight and responsive., but more steering effort than stock.-brakes stop it with no issues. 4-wheel disk with 4 piston calipers.- rear body mounts replaced. rear spring replaced.shocks replaced. in last few years.All other new bushings included still in boxes new.
This car is a driver. its made for the road and has seen a lot of it.I'msuspecting the miles have rolled over once.I've only driven it a fewhundred miles sinceI've had the car. it will catch rubber all day long if you want it to. it can bark the tires between first and second, andbetween second and third, and pulls hard to 6500RPM. This 383 is no big block, but it embarrasses stock small blocks. There is a lot of interior and exterior work to do, but most of all the mechanical work is already done. Idon't hesitate to drive this car especially with the nicer weather coming.
