1965 Chevrolet C-10 Short Bed Step Side Description

1965 Chevrolet C10 Short Bed Step Side Truck

Up for sale is my 1965 Chevy C10 Short Bed Step Side. This truck has had a frame off restoration with documentation and lots pictures of the complete restoration.

Overview:

Frame:

The frame was cleaned and checked for straightness. It was painted with an epoxy base paint (POR15).

Suspension:

CCP two-inch drop spindles in the front along with two inch lowering springs. All the front suspension has been replaced with new tie rods, bushings, bearings, etc… The rear suspension isrebuild with all new bushing and four inch lowering springs along with a new CCP pannier bar. Stock non-power steering box. She handles very nice, does not pull and drives straight. The wheel bolt pattern was changed from 6 bolt to 5X5 bold pattern. The Truck has BRAND NEW Wheels and Tires. 18x8 in the front and 20x10 in the rear with Falken tires.

Brakes

Complete disk brake system at all four corners. New master cylinder, disks, Pads and components.

Drive Train

The 350 cu in engine was completely rebuilt. It has a crane cam for a little lop, along with headers, 24 inch Cherry bombs. 194 heads with stronger valve springs. Holly intake manifold along with a 650cfm Holly carburetor. Single wire distributor. The motor runs excellent and is very fun/loud when you jump on it. Mated to the SBC 350 is the SM460 4 speed rock crusher transmission turning a two-piece drive shaft with new bearings and u joints. The drive shaft is attached to a GM/Pontiac 11 bold Posi rear end. (The only tag it had on the rear end said it was a “Safety Lock” and I’m not sure what that is). Also it has a new aluminum radiator with an electric fan and she stays a constant 165 degrees all day long. Oil pressure is off the gauge when running and 55psi at idle. VERY STRONG MOTOR.

Wiring

All wiring was replaced and presents itself well. No loose wires, no shorts and everything works as it should, Heater (new blower motor and heater core), Pioneer CD Player, interior lights, dash lights, turn signals, headlights, Alternator Gauge and Gas gauge. The LED Brake lights work perfect. The temperature gauge is a thermocouple from the intake. (sorry, I never hooked up the cigarette lighter, no smoking).

Body

Bodywork completed and single stage polyurethane was painted inside the cab and outside. From 1 to 10, I would say it’s a 7. Great for a daily driver and shows. All new rubber throughout the cab was replaced including the lower floor vents, wind wings, and window felt. New door handles and inner door handles were replaced. Also the fuel system has been moved to the back along with its electric fuel pump. Works perfect. The wood bed has been replaced with oak. It’s Beautiful!!!

Front, Rear & the ¼ windows Glass are new. Door glass is fine.

Overall it’s a nice truck to drive anywhere, the gear ratios seem to be perfect. I use second and third around town, and fourth makes this a freeway flyer. I get lots of looks and plenty of people come by to check her out.

Please review all of the pictures, if you have any questions or would like to see pictures of the restoration, just send me an email. It has a clean Utah Title and I drive her often.
