1950 Chevrolet Fleetline Amazing Barn Find
1950 Chevrolet 2door Fleetline Description
The term "bar find" is thrown around a lot these days and seldom is it true, but this time it is. I found this car under a tarp in the back of a pole arm in my town and after a few days of negotiations, convinced the owner to let me take care of her and find her a new owner. The most amazing part about this car is that it is virtually rust free!! The worst part of finding a car from the early years is fighting rust, well that's no concern here. There's is a small amount of bubble on the driver door about 3"s long by 1.5" tall and a quarter size spot on the rear valance, and about a dime size in the passenger front floor. Again, these spots are not holes, but small sections of bubbles. There are NO rust holes in this car. The floors, trunks pans, spare tires, rockers, fenders, roof, window edges, EVERYTHING is amazingly solid. The car was parked due to a chattering in the driveline. After purchasing it, I diagnosed that the clutch was saturated from an oil pan leak. Both the oil pan gasket And Clutch have been replaced and the car drives smooth as glass. The motor runs flawlessly. It has ALL fresh fluids and tuneup consisting of oil, coolant, transmission, and rear. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and battery. All glass is in good structural condition with slight bubbling between layers around the edges as all cars of these years do, but nothing major. At some point in her life she was painted. Though there is no sign of patch work or metal repair. She appears to be ( to a trained eye) all original unmolested steel. She was painted a beautiful blue metallic. Although care was taken to do so, years of barn life and tarp/ bungee chord coverings have left some scratches here and there, but no dents or severities. This car is rare as it is a two door Fleetline deluxe, and even more so in its condition. You won't find another like it. All stainless is in great condition. The front and rear bumper were painted at some point to hide the typical surface rust but are rust and bend free. The interior is the only thing visibly not stock as the seats and door panels were replaced with a custom, yet tasteful, two tone tweed. Headliner is tear free and carpet was replaced when the seats were done. This car in Cali would be an easy 25k car. If I wasn't knee deep if four other builds, I'd keep it. I have ordered a Jamco 3" front and rear lowering kit that the buyer can either choose to have installed before taking ownership ( at no charge) or I will keep it if they don't care for it as I have plenty of toys it will fit on. Please don't take this car lightly. It is astonishingly solid and sure to please. Ready to drive daily or on Sunday cruises. I am more than willing to send any photos with in reason, answer any questions, or if you are nearby, please feel free to swing by my shop and see her in person. Thank you so much for your time and GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! Buyer is solely responsible for pick up or shipping and payment in full is due upon winning. The car is still 6v and I wanted to add so there are no surprises, the trunk key cylinder was removed as it wasn't working properly but I do HAVE the key cylinder that goes with the car, you just can't lock it at this point. It was removed professionally with out damage to the cylinder or trim.
