1964 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Cab, 283 3-Speed, Fleetside Long Bed, Small Window, Air Conditioning, Garage Queen.
This truck is a time capsule with theoriginal blue colored 283 V8 motor and 3-speedmanual transmission on the column. It is an original survivor, garage kept, well maintained, and not restored. It was owned by a camper dealer, parked in a camper showroom, with a large camper that extended over the roof and beyond the rear bumper. I bought it in 2002 with less than 24,000 miles, without the camper, tailgate, and rear bumper. Now, it has an aftermarket rear bumper and an original tailgate. It still has the two stage coil springs and the half leaf helper springs on the rear suspension.
Power steering was added using a Rez Engineering adapter, steering box from a 1976 Chevy, and pump from a 1964 Chevy. The manual steering can be restored, but now it is very easy to drive.
The Frigidaire air conditioning has been converted to R134A and blows cold air.
