1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 496 Big Block street rod hot rod big horsepower
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Description
I have a 1970 Chevy Chevelle 2dr Big Block. The car is super solid and front to back basically a brand new car. I'll start with the drive train. It's a period correct 454 bored and stroked to a 496 cubic inch monster. It has ported and polished aluminum GM heads that you can stick your fist into exhaust ports. Has Harland Sharp roller rockers and a hydraulic roller cam with double roller timing chain. Bottom end has a forged crank eagle rods main girdle and JE pistons. Compression is 12.1 and needs premium gas ran. Intake is a port matched Victor Jr intake and 850 Holley carb. All ignition is MSD. Has a built 400 turbo with 4000 stahl converter reverse manual valve body and Hurst ratchet shifter. Trans shifts firm with no slips or leaks. Trans is capable of supporting 1500hp. Rearend is a built 12bolt with Detriot locker hardened 31 spline axles and a 373 gear. It can spin the tires at 30mph kick. The motor is estimated at an easy 550hp. There is less than 2000 miles on complete running gear. Doesn't leak smoke or use any fluids. Drive train is very tight. Motor is dressed with billet pullys aluminum valve covers and more. As a huge aluminum radiator with electric fans. Doesn't get hot ever. Exhaust is full length headers with 3in exhaust and flowmaster mufflers dumped at the rearend. It's loud and intemidating for sure. Has manual disc brakes on the front and drums on the back. The suspension is all brand new from bushings to springs to everything else. Has Hotchkins oversized swaybar and racing springs on the front with traction bars on the back. Car handles great on any backroad and it's an absolute blast to drive. This 1970 handles as good as any 2016. The body is a very solid body with fresh paint and new cowlhood. It really looks great and gets so many compliments everywhere. It's a total package of show and go. Interior is all new from headliner to the carpet. All the glass is in great shape as is the weather stripping. The front seat is only thing not redone. It has a place where the thread as separated and has a black piece of tape over it. It's really not noticeable to most and it's right where the driver sets. Trunk and floor are very solid. All the gauges work and the factory clock even still works. Doors shut great with no sag. Any questions just ask. I have a video that I can text if interested. Just message me your number and I'll get it to you ASAP. Also any questions or any particular area you want to see just let me know and I'll get you closeup pics. Anyone is welcome to come see the car before bidding. Better have cash in hand if you think your gonna want to drive it. This car is a lot to handle and I'm not just letting anyone behind the wheel. Thanks
